Total snow accumulations between 5 and 8 inches with up to 8 to 10 inches along the south facing slopes of the southwest Adirondacks. * WHERE...Hamilton, Northern Fulton, and Northern Herkimer Counties. * WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Highest accumulations will be along the south facing slopes of the southwest Adirondacks with snowfall rates up to 0.5 to 1.5" per hour at times especially this afternoon into this evening.

Total snow accumulations up to 8 to 12 inches expected, with locally higher amounts possible in Herkimer County north of Route 28. * WHERE...Hamilton and Northern Herkimer Counties. * WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 1 PM EST this afternoon. For the Lake Effect Snow Warning, from 1 PM this afternoon to 7 PM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult due to snow covered roads, reduced visibilities, and blowing and drifting snow. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Scattered snow showers transition to a band of heavy lake effect snow this afternoon.
