    This 2-day tour to Machu Picchu begins around 09 am, when you are picked up at your Cusco hotel and driven to the railway station. Board a train for a 2-hour ride through Peru's spectacular, changing landscapes. Pass through lush fields and colorful villages in the foothills of the Andes, and take in views of the majestic mountains and the Urubamba River as it runs through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Spend the afternoon exploring Aguas Calientes, the town just below Machu Picchu. Take in the marketplace or visit the thermal baths at your own expense before returning to your hotel.

    The next day, take a 30-minute shuttle bus up to the Historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu. With your guide, explore the most important attractions of this ancient Incan site such as its main square, the Sun Temple, Intiwatana (Sun Clock), the Royal Rooms, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the Royal Incas Cemetery. At the end of your 2.5-hour guided tour, you may continue to explore and take photographs at your own pace. Return to Aguas Calientes for a traditional Andean lunch at your own expense, then take a train back to Ollantaytambo. The tour concludes with a driver transferring you back to Cusco. You may also upgrade the tour to include a visit to Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain.
