    The Ollantaytambo Archaeological Park is also known as the "Living Inca City", it is also the entrance to the town of Machupicchu (Aguas Calientes), a mandatory step to reach the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.

    The Short Inca Trail starts with an early pick-up in your hotel in Ollantaytambo, followed by a train ride to km 104, where the hike begins. After presenting your passport and verifying your permit, you cross the Vilcanota River and visit the archaeological site of Chachabamba. The trail continues through cloud forest, with beautiful vegetation, orchids, and local birds, until reaching Wiñay Wayna, where you have a guided tour. From there, you climb Inca stone steps to Inti Punku (Sun Gate), offering your first spectacular view of Machu Picchu. Finally, you descend toward the citadel, stop at the Guardian’s House for photos, and continue to Aguas Calientes, where you spend the night in a comfortable hotel.

    On the second day, you'll have an early breakfast and take a bus to Machu Picchu. After presenting your passport and entering the citadel, your guide will lead a 2-hour tour through Circuit 3B, exploring the history, architecture, and cultural significance of the Inca site. After visiting Machu Picchu, you'll return to Aguas Calientes, take the train to Ollantaytambo, and then transfer to Cusco, where the 2-day Short Inca Trail ends at your preferred drop-off point.
