Experience this short inca trail to the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu. the trek starting at Chachabamba (km 104) on the railroad and allow you to enjoy part of the inca trail and visit the impressive archaeological site of Wiñayhuyana, continuing through the famous Inti Punku or Sun Gate with a beatiful and panoramic view of Machu Picchu , and finally the second day an early-morning guided tour of world-famous Inca citadel of Machupicchu.

    Cusco - Winay Wayna - Sun Gate - Aguas Calientes

    Early morning we pick you up from your hotel and drive to the train station to board the train that will take us to km.104 on the Cusco – Machupicchu railroad (starting point of the hike), where we arrive at around 9:00 am. We start visiting the Chachabamba archaeological complex (2150m/7052ft), located very close to the control point, to then embark upon an 8 km (5 miles) ascending trail, After four hours takes us to the archaeological complex of Wiñaywaynan(2,680 m/8,792 ft),. This is an impressive complex made up of an agricultural center with numerous terraces, a religious sector and an urban sector. After the box lunch we will continue on to Inti Punku (Sun Gate), (2,730 m/8,792 ft) from where you will have your first incredible, panoramic view of Machu Picchu (2,400 m/7,873 ft). We will walk down to the last part of the trail towards the ancient city itself. Before reaching Machu Picchu, we will take a side path off the trail to descend to Machupicchu and then by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes where we will have dinner and we will accommodate at the selected hotel .

    We wake up early and board a bus to Machupicchu where we begin a complete guided tour of the most important places in Machu Picchu Archaeological site that will take approximately two hours. You will then have free time to explore the Inca Ciatdel by yourselves. Optional If you have energy, you can also climb up the Huaynapicchu Mountain, where one can experience spectacular views of all of Machupicchu, the valleys and mountains that surround it (please note that there are only 400 visitors allowed per day), in your own. After finish your visit you’ll take the bus down to Aguas Calientes for lunch (this lunch is not included in the cost of the trek). Later you will board the train at 16:12 from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo or Poroy Station . Where our driver will be waiting for you to come back by car to your hotel in Cusco
