Awake to the pre-dawn magic of Cusco as we travel by van to Ollantaytambo, then board a picturesque train winding through the Sacred Valley toward KM 104. Trekking to Ancient Marvels Hop off at KM 104 – your gateway to adventure. Embark on a challenging yet rewarding 4-hour uphill trek through lush valleys and cloud forest. Your destination: the stunning archaeological site of Wiñayhuayna (2,700m). Here, your guide brings Inca history alive, connecting you to the mysteries of the past. 5Aguas Calientes
Optional Huayna Picchu Ascent 10:00am Entry (if ticket reserved in advance) For the adventurous, tackle a scenic and challenging climb up Huayna Picchu. This one-hour hike rewards you with unmatched views over Machu Picchu. Note: Tickets must be reserved at least two weeks in advance due to limited availability. Relaxing Return to Aguas Calientes Descend by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you have leisure time to visit local internet cafes, browse shops, or unwind at a café. Shop the Local Marketplace Explore the vibrant market beside the train tracks. It’s the perfect spot to pick up souvenirs before you hear the train whistle calling you back.

6Ollantaytambo
Journey Back to Cusco Board your train to Ollantaytambo, then transfer to Cusco by bus, where you’ll be dropped off at Plaza San Francisco. Make your own way to your accommodation at your own pace.

Without this information, the local tour operator will be unable to make the booking. Please be aware that your complete and correct passport information must be provided. Absolutely no modifications can be made once your booking has been confirmed. - Physical requirements: This hike is Moderate - an 8 miles trail mostly uphill, with 550 meters of uphill that might be difficult for people who are afraid of heights
- Suggested packing list: Bring or Rent in Cusco: hiking poles, rain pants, rain poncho, trekking boots, sandals, warm socks, sweater, thermals, hat, gloves, sun hat, sun block, sun glasses, flashlight/torch, camera, extra batteries and memory card (there is limited to no electricity available during the trek), waterproof bags for your camera, hand sanitizer, personal first aid kit, water bottle. Bring extra cash for snacks, water, gatorade which doubles or triples in price along the trail.
- *Please note that there is a mandatory pre-departure briefing at our Cuzco Headquarters one day prior to departure at 6 PM. - *Note: You will have a guide during the trek and on the Machu Picchu tour. However, during your bus and train transfers you will not be accompanied by a guide.
- As of June 11, 2022, all travelers over 18 years old must have three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. That means two regular doses plus a booster. Passengers from 12 to 17 years old must prove they are vaccinated with two doses. If they do not have a complete scheme, they must present the negative result of an RT-PCR test taken no more than 48 hours before boarding in their country of origin.
