    Cusco - Piscacuchu km 82 - Llactapata - Wayllabamba/Ayapata (L&D)

    Inca Trail

    The professional Machu Picchu Andes Tours team will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 4:30 am and then head towards Ollantaytambo where you will stop to enjoy your breakfast (on your own). After breakfast, continue your journey towards Piscacuchu km 82. At this point you will meet the expedition team that will accompany you throughout the tour (local cook and porters) and you will have some time to organize and get ready for the hike. Then, pass the checkpoint with your passport and tickets and begin your hike along an easy trail to the Wayllabamba/Ayapata campsite. Along the way, explore the Llaqtapata archaeological site and enjoy your first lunch overlooking the Urubamba River valley and the snow-capped mountains. At 18:00, at the campsite, enjoy a nutritious dinner.

    Wayllabamba/Ayapata - Warmiwañusca (Highest point) - Pacaymayo (B,L&D)

    Today will be the most difficult day of the 4-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. After an energetic breakfast, you will begin the 5-hour hike to the highest point commonly called Warmiwañuska or dead woman pass (4,200 meters / 13,779 feet). From here, you will enjoy incredible views of the eastern Andes Mountain range and the native biodiversity of the Puna region. You will then continue your hike down a beautiful stone trail to Pacaymayo camp (3,640 meters / 11,942 feet), where you will enjoy a rewarding lunch with excellent panoramic views. After lunch, take a relaxing break. At 6:00 pm, enjoy your dinner, delicious dishes prepared by our local cook.

    Pacaymayo – Phuyupatamarka – Wiñayhuayna (B,L&D)

    After a well-deserved breakfast, start the day by visiting the Runkurakay archaeological site and then ascend to the Runkurakay pass (3970 meters). On this part of the trail, you will be amazed by the charm of the scenic beauty: deep valleys, steep mountains covered with vegetation and snow-capped peaks. After lunch, descend gradually to Wiñaywayna, where the last camp is located. On this part of the trail, visit small and beautiful archaeological sites such as Phuyupatamarca and Intipata. Once in Wiñaywayna, in the afternoon, explore the archaeological site of the same name. At 6:00 pm, enjoy your dinner, delicious dishes prepared by our local cook.

    Wiñayhuayna – Sun Gate – Machu Picchu – Cusco (B)

    Machu Picchu

    This is the final and most awaited part of the Inca Trail Hike to Machu Picchu. Because you will visit Machu Picchu, one of the 7 wonders of the World. Begin your last day of trekking before sunrise with a delicious breakfast at 4:00 a.m. Beforehand, say goodbye to the porters and the chef. At 4:30 a.m., start walking following a trail through a tropical forest full of flora and fauna to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), from where you will have the first breathtaking view of the Inca city of Machupicchu. Then descend to the main gate of Machu Picchu and explore for 2 hours with your local tour guide. After the tour in Machu Picchu, take the bus to the Aguas Calientes town. Have lunch at any restaurant on your own. Then head to the train station to board your return train to Ollantaytambo or Poroy station (train departure at 2:55, 3:20, or 4:20 p.m.), where our staff will be waiting to take you by minivan to Cusco – Hotel. Note: book the inca trail 2 or 3 months in advance.
