Your day begins with a 4:00 a.m. hotel pickup in Cusco, followed by a scenic 2.5-hour drive through the Andes. Pause in Quiquijana for snacks and essentials, then enjoy a peaceful boxed breakfast on the serene shores of Pomacanchi Lagoon. The early morning light over the lake and surrounding farms sets the perfect tone for the adventure ahead. Continue driving to Santa Lucía, where your trek begins.

Begin a 1.5-hour uphill trek through spectacular Andean landscapes. Along the way, take in panoramic views of the Apurímac Canyon, observe native flora and fauna, and reach the Waqrapukara viewpoint — a stunning lookout over the canyon’s dramatic cliffs and the mighty river below. After a boxed lunch with a view, explore the archaeological site of Waqrapukara for around 90 minutes. Learn about its Inca and pre-Inca significance, horn-shaped formations, and sacred architecture.

After soaking in the wonders of Waqrapukara, begin your 90-minute descent back to the trailhead. Then relax in private transport for a comfortable return trip to Cusco. As the sun dips behind the mountains, reflect on an unforgettable day immersed in nature, history, and Andean heritage. Arrival in Cusco is estimated around 6:00–7:00 p.m.
