What to expect

The Salkantay Trek begins in Cusco and takes you on a 4-day journey through the Andes to Machu Picchu. Starting in Mollepata and Soraypampa, you’ll hike to the stunning Humantay Lake before ascending to the Salkantay Pass (4,650 m), the highest and most breathtaking point of the trek.

From there, the trail descends into the cloud forest, passing through Chaullay, La Playa, and Santa Teresa. Along the way, you'll walk beside waterfalls, coffee plantations, and lush tropical landscapes, discovering Peru’s incredible biodiversity. You'll also connect with local Andean communities and experience their unique traditions and way of life.

The adventure ends with a scenic hike along the railway to Aguas Calientes, followed by a guided tour of the legendary Machu Picchu. Walking among the ancient stone ruins, surrounded by dramatic peaks, is a magical reward, one that will stay with you forever.
