At 1 p.m., we will meet you at your hotel lobby to begin your tour. From here, you will head to Cusco’s Plaza de Armas, where you will visit the famous cathedral. Following, you will continue on foot through an ancient Inca-built street to the Q’oricancha, the Temple of the Sun. At the Q’oricancha you will be able to compare and contrast the building methods of the Incan culture and Catholicism. This was the key spiritual center of the Incas, which leads to all four quarters of the Inca Empire. From Q’oricancha, your group will walk down Avenida El Sol, where you will take your bus 20 minutes outside of the city. You will be taken to the majestic Inca site, Sacsayhuaman, with its enigmatic, 200 tons monoliths, You will be able to hear from your guide and then, explore on your own.

From Sacsayhuaman, you will take a five minute bus ride to the Q’enqo Inca site to see its fascinating Incan altars. Following, you will take another five minute drive to Puca Pucara, a small, circular Inca site. The final stop on our tour is Tambomachay, a water temple with impressive water fountains, thought to be used by the Inca for bathing. We’ll then drive back down to Cusco where the tour ends in the main square, unless you are taking a private tour, in which case, we will return you to your hotel.
At 8.20am transfer from your hotel at earlier time if coordinated. In a tourist bus we travel over the mountains and then we drop 1500 feet to the valley floor of the sacred Urubamba river and the village of Pisac where we will visit a traditional market and you can buy some local souveniers. We then drive up to explore the extensive ruins of Pisac with stunning views over the valley. For those who would prefer to spend more time in the market instead of visiting the ruins, advise your guide so he can organise a time and place to pick you up when they return through the market.
We continue on to Urubamba where we stop for a buffet lunch. A further 30 mins drive takes us to Ollantaytambo surrounded by the sacred mountains, where we will again discover the magnificence of the Incan constructions and the beauty of the local people in their traditional dress. You will then be escorted to the train station.
After breakfast at your hotel, our guide will pick you up and take you to the bus station to board the bus and take a short ride up to the main entrance gate of Machu Picchu to begin a unique experience by exploring one of the New Seven Wonders of the World accompanied with our professional South American Exclusive Tours Peru guide who will share with you all his knowledge about the history, traditions and more that surrounds this mysterious and enigmatic Inca citadel. Once the guided tour is over, you will have extra free time to explore the marvelous of Machupicchu on your own. After you end up your visit, board the bus down to Aguas Calientes for Lunch (not included) and enjoy some extra time at the town to get some local souvenirs and then board the train back to Ollantaytambo train station where our staff will be waiting for you and transferred in our private transport back to your Cusco hotel and end your tour to Machu Picchu.
The Rainbow Mountain of Peru, also known as Vinicunca, are stunning and can be seen on the spectacular Ausangate Trek. Ausangate mountain itself is considered a holy mountain (or mountain spirit) by local Peruvians and is the deity of Cusco. Since pre-Inca times the mountain has been a place of worship and offerings and this tradition continues today. Most trips that allow you to see the Rainbow Mountains require a trek of at least 6 days. That has changed with this brand new itinerary. We have designed this hike so that it can be done as a day trip! On this trek you will see quaint villages, beautiful adobe style houses, herds of llamas and alpacas and you will have magnificent views of the Ausangate Glacier (6,385 m / 20,945 ft), the highest mountain in the Cusco region. PROGRAM ITINERARY: Pick up from your Hotel in Cusco between 04:00 am to 4:15 am 3 Hrs drive on a private transport to Quesiuno located at 4,320 masl (start of the trek). Breakfast will be provided once we arrive to Quesiuno. We start our hike from 4200 m to 5100 masl to RAINBOW MOUNTAIN (Cerro Colorado, Montaña de Colores or “Vinicunca”) lead by our expert guide, here we can see the stunning colors that are natural formations of minerals since ages that give colors to the mountain. Beautiful views of red and colors mountains, streams and herds of alpacas and llamas and the south side of Ausangate ranges of mountains. We will hike through small traditional andean villages a see the local people with their colorful dresses. After a total hike of approximately 2 hours, we finally will reach to this mirador spot to have an impressive views of Rainbow Mountains located at 5,100 masl. Time to explore the area. Time to rest and enjoy our packed lunch. You will have time to take pictures and soak in the environment. (We will spend approximately 30-45 minutes at the top). Then we start our return back hiking a downhill the way thru we came. The hike will take 1:30 hours. Our private van will be waiting for us when we return. 3 hour drive back to Cusco and drop you off at your Cusco hotel. Approximate arrival time is between 3 and 4 pm.
