Upon arrival at Cusco airport (we recommend booking a flight that arrives before midday), your team will meet you and begin your journey straight into the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Spending your first night in the Sacred Valley (at around 9,500 ft / 2,900 m) allows for a smoother acclimatization to the altitude, ensuring you start your adventure comfortably. As we drive through the valley, you’ll enjoy breathtaking landscapes of rolling mountains, rivers, and traditional Andean villages. Your first main stop will be the Pisac Archaeological Complex, one of the most extensive Inca sites in the region—larger in area than Machu Picchu itself. Explore its impressive agricultural terraces, ceremonial structures, and fortifications that crown the mountain. Afterward, you may choose to visit the colorful Pisac, famous for its handicrafts and local products, or stop at a charming llama and alpaca farm to learn about these Andean animals and their importance in Incan culture.
Your second-day adventure begins with pickup from your hotel around 8:00 – 8:30 AM (exact time will be confirmed the evening before). Your first stop will be the picturesque town of Chinchero, known for its breathtaking views of the Andes, vibrant weaving cooperatives where local families preserve ancient textile traditions, and its charming Inca ruins. Next, we continue to the mysterious Moray agricultural terraces, believed to have been an experimental Inca laboratory for testing crops at different altitudes. Afterward, we visit the spectacular Maras Salt Mines, a dazzling patchwork of thousands of salt pools where locals have harvested salt since pre-Inca times. In the afternoon, we explore the remarkable Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo, famous for its megalithic stone walls, temples, and breathtaking views over the valley. Walking through the cobblestoned streets of this “living Inca town” will transport you back in time. Continue to Aguas Calientes or Return to your hotel
