You will meet your local guide at 9:00 a.m. or upon your cruise disembarkation at San Martín Port. From there, you will be transferred to the town of Paracas, where you will join the rest of the group for a guided excursion to the Ballestas Islands, operated by a licensed local provider. During the excursion, there will be a brief stop near the Paracas Peninsula to view the well-known Candelabro geoglyph, an impressive figure etched into the hillside. Its origin remains uncertain, and while several theories exist, some linking it to the Nazca Lines, no definitive evidence has been established. The tour continues around the Ballestas Islands, where you can observe seabirds and sea lions in their natural habitat. The visit includes panoramic views of the three main islands and nearby rock formations, with possible views of natural caves, subject to weather and sea conditions.
After returning to the port, you will board a shared vehicle and continue the journey to the Paracas National Reserve. During the visit, you will stop at the Interpretation Center, a facility that presents photographs and information about the region’s fauna, flora, and key features of the Paracas Peninsula. The route then continues through the desert landscape of the reserve toward the coastal viewpoint known as La Catedral. This area was once home to a notable natural rock formation, which was affected by the 2007 earthquake. Today, the site offers panoramic views of the desert and ocean, as well as opportunities to observe seabirds from designated viewpoints. The tour also includes visits to Playa Roja and Lagunillas Beach, where there will be time to relax and purchase refreshments if available. At the conclusion of the excursion, you will be transferred back to San Martín Port to rejoin your cruise ship.
