04:10 – 04:15 hrs: Pick up from your accommodation in Cusco and transfer by car to Ollantaytambo. 06:40 – 07:40 hrs: Train ride to km 104. Our guide will be waiting for you to start the Short Inca Trail. 08:00 – 14:15 hrs: Visit the archaeological site of Chachabamba (2250 m). Here we observe local agricultural terraces that supply Aguas Calientes. Then we begin the hike to Wiñay Wayna, one of the main highlights of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. 14:15 – 15:45 hrs: Hike to Inti Punku (Sun Gate), where you’ll get your first incredible view of Machu Picchu Sanctuary. 15:45 – 16:25 hrs: Continue hiking to Machu Picchu, exploring the magic of this historic site. 16:45 – 17:20 hrs: Return to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town). 19:00 – 20:00 hrs: Dinner in Aguas Calientes and briefing with the guide for the next day’s Machu Picchu guided tour
06:00 – 07:00 hrs: Start early and head to the Incan citadel of Machu Picchu. As some of the first visitors, we’ll board the bus to the archaeological complex. Along the way, we’ll enjoy our first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu, nestled in the mountains above the Urubamba River. 07:00 – 09:30 hrs: Upon arrival, we’ll take a guided tour of Machu Picchu for about 2 hours, exploring the most iconic areas. Learn about the site’s history, significance, and spiritual beliefs while admiring the stunning Inca architecture. After the tour, we’ll return by bus to Aguas Calientes. 14:30 – 16:10 hrs: Return train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo. 16:10 – 20:10 hrs: Scenic bus ride from Ollantaytambo back to Cusco, concluding your Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu experience
