Along the way you will visit Chachabamba and Wiñayhuayna, two fascinating archaeological complexes surrounded by lush Andean vegetation. The tour continues until you reach Machu Picchu through Puerta del Sol or Inti Punku, from where you will get the first view into the wonder of the world, just as the ancient Incas did centuries ago.
The experience culminates with a guided tour of Machu Picchu, where you will learn more about a great civilization and the secrets of this incredible citadel. Pickups for the start of the tour are made at hotels, lodgings and Airbnbs located within the Historic Center of Cusco. In case the accommodation is in a street with restricted access, narrow or without vehicular access, a nearby meeting point will be coordinated in advance to carry out the collection in a comfortable and safe way.
Plaza de Armas, in the heart of Cusco’s historic center, is easily accessible on foot. From San Blas go down Cuesta de San Blas or Hatun Rumiyoc; from San Cristobal go down Calle Resbalosa; and from San Pedro Market walk down Calle Mantas until you reach the square.
The experience begins very early with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco and transfer to Ollantaytambo station, where you will board the train to Km 104, the starting point of the Inca Short Way. After the entrance control, we will start the hike visiting the archaeological sites of Chachabamba and Wiñayhuayna, surrounded by impressive Andean landscapes and abundant vegetation. After lunch, we will continue to Inti Punku or Puerta del Sol, from where we will enjoy the first and unforgettable panoramic view of Machu Picchu. Finally, we will descend to Aguas Calientes, where we will stay to rest and prepare for the visit to Machu Picchu the next day.
The second day will be dedicated to exploring Machu Picchu, one of the most important archaeological gems in the world. During the guided tour we will tour its main enclosures and terraces, while discovering the secrets of the ancient Inca civilization. At the end of the experience, we will return to Aguas Calientes and then take the train to Ollantaytambo and continue by tourist transport to the city of Cusco.
