Maras: The Maras Salt Mines, also known as the Maras Salt Ponds, are one of the most remarkable cultural landscapes in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Located at about 3,380 meters (11,090 ft) above sea level on a mountainside near the village of Maras, this impressive site features more than 3,000 small salt ponds. These terraces are fed by a natural underground saltwater spring that has flowed from the mountain since pre-Inca times. Through a traditional system of channels, the salty water is directed into each pond, where it slowly evaporates under the Andean sun, allowing the salt to crystallize through an entirely artisanal process. For centuries, the salt mines have been managed by local families who maintain this ancestral tradition. Each family owns and works a group of ponds, harvesting the salt and preserving a unique cultural heritage. Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu
MACHUPICCHU: Enjoy a unique and perfectly organized experience in Machu Picchu. Your professional guide will pick you up from your hotel in Aguas Calientes and escort you to the bus station for a scenic 30-minute ride up to the entrance of the majestic citadel. Once there, you will enjoy an approximately 3-hour guided tour exploring the most important temples, terraces, and ceremonial areas, while learning about Inca history, architecture, and legacy. You will also have time to take photos and admire the breathtaking views. After the visit, return by bus to Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon, take your train to Ollantaytambo, where our transportation will be waiting to transfer you comfortably back to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel.

Ollantaytambo
After your visit to Machu Picchu and some free time in the town of Aguas Calientes, you will board the return train to Ollantaytambo. This scenic journey offers another opportunity to admire the beautiful landscapes of the Sacred Valley, including the Urubamba River, lush vegetation, and impressive Andean mountains along the route. Upon arrival at the Ollantaytambo train station, our representative will be waiting to welcome you and assist you with your transfer. From there, you will continue the journey by comfortable tourist transportation back to the city of Cusco. The drive allows you to relax after your incredible Machu Picchu experience while enjoying the evening views of the Sacred Valley and surrounding mountains. Once in Cusco, we will take you directly to your hotel, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-organized return at the end of this unforgettable journey.
