This tour is more special than the others because the farmer you will visit is a confirmed agronomic engineer that spent all his life studying fruits and has perfected his cocoa by modifying the genes of his fruits in order to combine the flavor of the Chuncho and increasing the size of it. He is also one of the only farmers to do all the processes himself and selling his own chocolate past.
During the tour, you will discover a Peruvian province (La Convencion) in the mountainous jungle that tourists rarely visit.
Afterwards, you will learn and experience for yourself the different steps of making a product that you frequently consume: chocolate.
As a family, couple or small group, accompanied by the farmers, participate in all the traditional stages of cocoa production, from picking to tasting.
At 7:30 AM, we will pick you up from your hotel as we depart for the farm with our private driver. On the way, we will make stops at beautiful points of view to please our eyes and to take pictures. We prefer to pick you up from your hotel in Cusco or Ollantaytamo or Urubamba town. if other destinations are chosen, additional fees may be charged.
We shall depart in the direction of Quillabamba. This section of the trip takes approximately four and a half hours. We will pass through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The highest point of our journey will be Malaga (approximately 4,316 meters above sea level).
Around 2 pm, we will arrive at the farm in Echarate where you will be given a tour of the plantation by Carlos Valer Delgado an expert agronomic engineer who dedicated his life to fruits. You shall taste all the fruits he has available and experience all the processes of making chocolate from the bud to the paste.
After your breakfast, we shall head back to Cusco with our private driver
