For many visitors to Peru and South America, a visit to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu is the most anticipated highlight of their trip. Set in a spectacular Andean landscape, it is the most famous archaeological site on the continent. This awe inspiring ancient Inca city was never discovered by the Spanish conquistadors and remained hidden among the mountains until the early 20th century, when it was rediscovered and became one of Peru’s most iconic travel destinations. Entrance to Machu Picchu is included, subject to availability, and it is highly recommended to secure your spot in advance due to limited daily tickets.
We will pick you up from your hotel within the historic centre of Cusco
Our program begins with the pick up of your Hostel at 10:00 am for your later transfer to the train station in Ollantaytambo for an approximate 2 hours trip, where we board the 12:55 pm train that will take us on course To Aguas Calientes (Machupicchu town), approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, during the route we will observe the spectacular beauty of nature and abundant flora of the area, crossing the captivating landscape of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Arriving at the town of Aguas Calientes at 2:30 pm where the hostel staff or the transfer will be waiting for you to arrive, at the train station who will transfer them and install it at the hostel and we will have the afternoon free to visit the village (optionally You can enjoy the thermal baths of this place or the site museum of Machu Picchu). Between 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. the guide will go to your Hostel for a talk about the following day's tour in Machupicchu. Overnight in Aguas Calientes (Town of Machupicchu)
Early in the morning we will take a bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, Once in Machu Picchu our guide will give a guided tour around the Machu Picchu for two hours, You will see the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters etc. after the tour you will have some free time to explore, take pictures, or just walk around the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Finally you need to walk back to Aguas Calientes town for take the train back at around 06:20 pm or 21:50 pm from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo and then by bus to Cusco.
