Tenby, Wales

2 hours 30 minutes (approximately)
Offered in: English

Coasteering was invented here in Pembrokeshire, and Lydstep is one of its finest natural venues - sheltered cliffs, deep-water jump ledges and a swim-through cave you won't forget. We're a fully licensed (AALA) provider and members of the National Coasteering Charter, and our local guides have taken more than 50,000 people along this coastline since 2017. Sessions run at all levels: every jump is optional, so nervous first-timers and adrenaline-chasers get equally great sessions - our reviews back that up. We're also Tenby's top-rated activity provider on Tripadvisor, with over 600 five-star reviews. And we look after the coast we play on, recovering lost fishing gear and plastic from the sea as we go.

What's Included

Special coasteering wetsuits, buoyancy aids & helmets.
Footwear (bring trainers you don't mind getting wet).

This activity ends back at the meeting point.

What to expect

Your adventure starts at our favourite bit of coast in Lydstep, a 10-minute drive from Tenby on the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. After a welcome briefing, your guide will kit you out in a specialist coasteering wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet, then lead you down to the sea at Lydstep Point.
From there you'll travel along the coastline the adventurous way: swimming across rocky coves, scrambling over wave-washed ledges, riding the swell through natural gullies (the swirly bits!), and exploring sea caves - including a swim-through cave once used by smugglers. Along the way your guide will show you how to move safely through the water and point out wildlife and hidden corners of the coast you simply can't reach on foot.
Then there are the cliff jumps. We build up gradually, starting with small ledges and working up to bigger leaps for those who want them - every jump is completely optional, and our guides are just as happy coaching nervous first-timers as thrill-seekers. After around two hours in and around the sea, we head back to base, peel off the wetsuits and swap stories.
