This adventure begins in the City of Cusco with a bus trip to the area of Santa Rosa -Beginning of the walk-. The trek will be on an original Inca Trail that once reached Machu Picchu.
On the route we will enjoy incredible panoramic views and admire the exuberant flora and fauna of the place. On the tour you will visit and enjoy the Cocalmayo Thermal Baths. Throughout the tour, you will have great experiences such as the Coffee Tour, where you can harvest, wash, peel, roast and grind the coffee with our own hands and taste your own coffee.
You will also do the Zip Line, you will also cross walking over a deep canyon by a challenging Extreme Bridge
On the tour we will arrive at the town of Aguas Calientes and we will go up to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, we will visit magical and incredible places that have made the place one of the Wonders of the World. Likewise, you can enjoy our spacious and comfortable facilities in our exclusive Eco-Lodge MAJESTIC SKY DOMES
We will pick you up from your hotel located in Cusco or the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
This first day, we will pick you up from your hotel located in the City of Cusco at 3:00 am. in our private vehicular transport and we will travel around four hours on a paved road until we reach the town of Santa María (1400 m.s.n.m.). Then, we will continue along a road for another 20 minutes until we arrive around 8:00 am. to the Santa Rosa area.
The area of Santa Rosa (1600 m.s.n.m.) is the Starting Point of our walk -. From here we will start our walk, first it will be uphill for only 15 minutes until we reach our first stop, where we will have our first and exquisite breakfast, also a place where we will have the opportunity to stock up on water and make some purchases such as: tropical fruits of the area or some snacks.
After breakfast we will continue with the path that goes uphill for about 30 minutes until we reach an original Inca Trail known as the Inca Jungle Trail that formerly connected the sacred city of the Incas Machu Picchu with the city of Vilcabamba. Here the Inca Trail is paved and very well preserved, here our guide will explain the history of the Incas, on the route we will also admire the flora and fauna of the area. In this part we will also have impressive panoramic views of the entire canyon. Afterwards, the path goes downhill to the Quellomayo sector, where we will arrive around 1:00 pm. and where we will have an exquisite lunch and a restful rest in the hammocks of the restaurant. After lunch we will continue for another 2 hours of walking that goes flat to the Cocalmayo Thermal Baths.
The Cocalmayo Thermal Baths (1600 m.s.n.m.), where we will arrive around 4:00 p.m., here you will enjoy the thermo-medicinal waters for about 2 hours. This place is located in the middle of a beautiful landscape of sub-tropical jungle and consists of 3 large pools with crystalline and transparent waters coming from the subsoil, the water temperature varies between 38° and 45° degrees Celsius. The complex has showers, changing rooms for men and women and local shops. These medicinal waters are attributed healing properties for skin problems, rheumatism or joint pain, being at the same time a natural source of hydromassage and relaxation. If you want to cool your body, you can access the icy waterfalls from the Uripata lagoon, located next to the hot pools. After enjoying the thermal baths, we will board our vehicular transport and it will take us for 10 minutes to the town of Santa Teresa.
The town of Santa Teresa (1700 meters above sea level), where we will arrive around 6:30 pm. with our transportation. Here you will have one last stop to do some shopping at the local stores.
Then, again with our transport we will go for another 50 minutes along a small road until we reach our Eco Lodge MAJESTIC SKY DOMES (2100 m.s.n.m.), which we will arrive at around 7:30 p.m. Upon arrival at our Lodge, a delicious dinner awaits you, then you have the option to gather around a campfire and admire the starry sky, and of course rest and sleep in your exclusive and comfortable dome room.
This second day will be full of emotions, after a good breakfast and around 10 am. We will leave the lodge and go explore the surroundings, so we can see the local coffee, avocado, orange, lemon, granadilla, and other plantations. These plantations are the livelihood of the local population; and especially the organic coffee plantations whose production is for export, which is why coffee is the main agricultural industry in the area.
In the morning we will leave the lodge to explore the area and visit a small local farm, where we will do the experiential Coffee Tour that consists of seeing the entire process of artisanal coffee production, and where we will have the opportunity to harvest, wash, peel, roast and grind coffee with our own hands. Finally we will taste our own freshly prepared coffee with that exquisite aroma of freshly roasted and ground coffee; you will really enjoy this experience. Then, around noon we will return to the lodge, take the opportunity to relax and enjoy the facilities, you can relax in the hammocks, listen to music in the dining room and enjoy a drink. At 1:00 p.m. we will have our tasty lunch.
After lunch, our transport will take you about 10 minutes to the adventure zone, located in the area of Playa Sahuayaco, upon arrival you will have an informative instructional talk by the instructor who will give you all the necessary information to do the zip line , this will give you a perspective of the experience you are about to do. Thus, you will start with the Zip Line or zip line over the canyon. Here we have 4 cables that will descend making a total of 1200 meters. Some are short, but with high slopes. The longest is about 400 meters above the Salkantay River and the departure and arrival points are platforms on the ground and some aerial platforms installed on the mountain. The maximum sliding speed on the cables is 60 km/h. You will also walk across the canyon in the area over a challenging Extreme Bridge. The entire circuit lasts 1 hour and a half. After enjoying this great experience we will return to our lodge.
If you do not want to do extreme activities, you can stay in our lodge and enjoy our extensive facilities. To end this great day, at night we will have our dinner and we will take advantage of the clear and starry sky that we have in the place to carry out an astronomical observation with our digital telescope that will allow us to observe some stars. This third day, we will get up very early, our breakfast is scheduled for 5:30 am. After breakfast, around 6:00 am. We will leave the lodge and in our vehicular transport and we will travel for 1 hour and 30 minutes to the Hydroelectric Power Plant.
We will arrive at the Hidroelectrica at 7:30 am. and we will start our walk following the railway line for 3 hours in the direction of the town like Aguas Calientes. On the route we will be able to observe the flora and fauna of the area, we will walk near the banks of the Urubamba River, from there we can appreciate the Sacred Mountains such as Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu. The walk continues and passes through a cloud forest, this area is covered with bromeliads and many varieties of orchids. Finally around 10:30 am. We will arrive at the town of Aguas Calientes.
Upon arrival at the town of Aguas Caliente (2000 meters above sea level) we will leave our backpacks to immediately board the bus that will take us for 25 minutes along a zigzagging road to the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu (2400 meters above sea level). Upon arrival on the bus to Machu Picchu (24,000 meters above sea level), our friendly and expert Tour Guide will start the guided tour of the place. The visit of Machu Picchu will begin at 11 am. and will last approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes accompanied by the guide's explanations, visiting magical and incredible places that have made Machu Picchu one of the Wonders of the World. In the afternoon, after having enjoyed Machu Picchu, we will board the bus, which will take us down about 25 minutes to the town of Aguas Calientes.
Upon arrival in the town of Aguas Calientes we will have lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards, they will have time to tour the town and visit the craft market. Then at night around 6:30 pm. We will board the Tourist Train back that will take us to the town of Ollantaytambo.
You will arrive in Ollantaytambo around 8:10 pm. Here one of our representatives will be waiting for you, who will bring you in our vehicular transport back to the City of Cusco arriving at approximately 9:40 pm. to leave them at your hotel.
