Briefing meeting: you will meet with your guide before to go over all the details of your tour. The briefing will take place at 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., or 7:00 p.m. on the day before departure
For Passengers staying nearby the Main Square the driver can come to your accommodation and pick you up. When the accommodation street is for pedestrians only. The driver can pick you up from the JW Marriott Hotel Main Door in Santa Catalina Ancha Street.
We will pick you up between 5:30 and 6:00 am to begin our adventure. After a journey of approximately 4 hours, we will reach the community of Cachora an d then Capulliyoq (2,890 m / 9,482 feet), a privileged spot to observe the snow-capped mountain of Padreyoq (5,771 m / 18,930 feet) and the Apurímac Canyon, the second deepest canyon in the world. We will then descend for about two and a half hours to a place called Chikiska (1,900 m / 6,234 feet), where we will enjoy a delicious lunch. After a refreshing break, we will continue our descent to the bridge at the Rosalina Beach area, where we will reach the lowest point of our trek (1,550 m / 5,085 feet). Then, we begin a 3-hour ascent to our first campsite, Santa Rosa Baja, where we will camp in tents, and our cooking team will be waiting with dinner.
At 5:00 a.m., we will enjoy a hearty breakfast to make sure we have plenty of energy for today's hike. At 6:00 a.m., our ascent begins — after 2.5 hours we will reach Marampata (2,870 m / 9,416 ft). From there, we will walk 2 more hours to the Choquequirao Inca citadel, where we will be able to visit the various main sectors of this Inca stronghold. After lunch inside Choquequirao, we will continue exploring the citadel. Following a full day at Choquequirao, it will be time to return to Marampata, where we will enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night in tents.
On this day, after breakfast, we will start walking at 6:00 a.m. We will begin our descent to Santa Rosa Alta, then Santa Rosa Baja, and continue on to Playa Rosalina (1,550 m / 5,085 ft). From there, we will continue ascending to Chikiska (1,900 m / 6,234 ft), where we will enjoy lunch. After a well-deserved rest, we will resume the ascent to Cocamasana, our third campsite.
At 6:00 a.m., after breakfast, we will face our final physical challenge: a 3-hour climb back up to the Capuliyoq Pass, where a bus will be waiting to take us to Cusco. After a 4.5-hour ride, we will arrive in Cusco, where we will drop you off at Plaza San Francisco, just two blocks from Cusco's main square.
