A gorgeous gorge welcome to a World Guinness Record canyon! The 24km length Vikos Gorge is one of the largest, deepest and most spectacular gorges in the world. You will be astonished of the great variety and alternation of different ecosystems, a feast of flora and fauna. The Gorge is one of the few remaining wildlife refuges in Europe in almost pristine condition, hosting 133 species of birds and 24 mammals.

    It is an easy route, of exceptional natural beauty. The trail, wide and distinct, goes through a beautiful sycamore forest. During the tour we come across the old monastery of Agioi Anargyroi which was built in 1658. This area is known for discovered artifacts of human presence dating back to the Paleolithic era. In the middle of the route visitors may take a break to rest, refill their canteens and even swim in Voidomatis river.

    The stone bridge is located south of Kleidonia at the exit of Voidomatis gorge. It was built in 1853 and has been declared a historical monument.

    "Ovires" or "Kolimbithres" are the small natural pools between villages "Mikro Pagigko" and "Megalo "Papigko" were formed by the natural flow of the water of the Rogovou stream.

    The village of Papigo is built at the foot of Mount Astrakas. Divided into two settlements, Megalo and Mikro Papigo, which are two kilometers apart. An impressive element of the landscape is the five imposing "towers" of Astraka that rise above the settlements.

    The village "Kipoi" is a village built on a hill and is located 39 km from Ioannina city. Characteristic of the village is its gardens and a river with stone bridges.

    It is one of the most well-known and popular routes of "Zagori" since it includes "Vradeto steps", one of the most impressive constructions, in the whole of Epirus. The trail path consists of 1500 steps and 39 turns. Then after "Vradeto" village, the route leads to the location "Beloi" from where can enjoy the most beautiful view of the vikos gorge.
