Sarakatsaniki Stani is an initiative of the Sarakatsana Brotherhood of Epirus. Ιn an area of about 20 acres of public forest, overgrown with firs and pines, granted for use to the Brotherhood. Α complex was built that tries to reproduce as faithfully as possible the environment of Sarakatsan life. A fundamental characteristic of this life was the nomadic and semi-nomadic animal husbandry, which dictated the movements of the Sarakatsanians from the mountains of Pindos to the plains of Epirus. The Brotherhood has represented cowsheds, corrals, struga, gazebo, loom, cheese factory, teacher’s hut, small church, etc., in order to stage the old way of life. All this is surrounded by a Museum room, and a canteen room.
