You will reach the impressive Inca site of Huchuy Qosqo, once a royal residence of Viracocha Inca, father of Pachacuti. After exploring temples, urban sectors, and ceremonial areas, you’ll continue to a local family lodge for an overnight stay in this peaceful village.
The next day, discover the highlights of the Sacred Valley, including Moray, the Chinchero Inca site, and Ollantaytambo, followed by a scenic train ride to Aguas Calientes.

Departure from your Hotel at 7:00 am and transfer to Taucca , just 45 minutes from the city of Cusco.
We will start our hike at a gentle pace through the high Andean mountains. Our professional tour guide will carry oxygen and provide detailed explanations about the Huchuy Qosqo Trek. Along the way, we will enjoy sightings of native birds, stunning landscapes, sections of the ancient Inca Trail, and beautiful blue lakes. We will stop for lunch on the mountain, surrounded by breathtaking views.
After lunch, we will start a gentle descent toward the archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo, located at 3,650 m. This remarkable ancient city overlooks the upper Sacred Valley of the Incas. Along the way, we will enjoy refreshing streams, scenic canyons, small waterfalls, vibrant red Kantu flowers, native Peruvian hummingbirds, and breathtaking views of both the Sacred Valley and Huchuy Qosqo itself.Then we will arrive at the huchuy qosqo local family lodge , where we will have our delicious organic dinner and spend the night.
On Day 2, our challenge day, we will explore the upper viewpoints of Huchuy Qosqo. We begin with a delicious and energizing breakfast at 6:00 a.m. in the community, surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery. After breakfast, we will enjoy a gentle walk toward the Sacred Valley viewpoint, where breathtaking landscapes await.
At the Sacred Valley viewpoint, you will learn about the history of the Incas and observe several impressive structures built along the mountain’s edge. Our tour guide will provide detailed explanations as you take in these remarkable sights. We then continue walking down to the community of Villa Carmen, where a delicious lunch awaits.
We will enjoy a delicious lunch at Parwa Restaurant, a local community-owned establishment that uses fresh, organic products from the Sacred Valley. After lunch, we will have some time to rest before visiting the traditional Guinea Pig House, where you can take photos and see the baby guinea pigs.
Here, our private transport will pick us up and take us to Ollantaytambo, a town considered a “Living Inca” for its original Inca walls and picturesque cobbled streets. We will have time to explore the urban sector, where local families still live among these ancient structures, as well as the main square. Afterward, we will enjoy a delightful dinner before boarding our train to Aguas Calientes.
Our guide will take you to the Ollantaytambo train station. We board our train, on a two-hour trip to Machu Picchu Pueblo, where our staff will pick you up and take you to your accommodation.
Today is a highlight of your journey as you visit Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. After an early breakfast at your hotel, you will meet your official tour guide and head to the bus station for the scenic ride to the sanctuary, which opens at 6:00 am. Please have your bus tickets, Machu Picchu entrance ticket, and original passport ready. After a 35-minute bus ride, you will arrive at the entrance gate, where tickets and passports are checked before beginning your unforgettable visit.
Enjoy a 3-hour private guided tour of Machu Picchu, exploring its most sacred Inca sites, including the Temple of the Sun, Main Plaza, Temple of the Three Windows, Artisan Sector, and Temple of the Condor. Learn about remarkable Inca architecture and hydraulic engineering as your expert guide brings the history to life. You’ll finish at your own pace, with chances to spot native wildlife—such as the iconic llamas—along the way.
We recommend taking the bus back to the village at least 2 hours before your train departure. In Aguas Calientes, you’ll have time to enjoy lunch before heading to the train station. From there, board your train on time for the return journey to Ollantaytambo.
At the indicated time we will take the train back to the sacred valley of Ollantaytambo where the representative of peruvian culture tours waits for you.
Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, a representative from Peruvian Culture Tours will be waiting for you. You will then travel by private van back to Cusco, enjoying a comfortable 2-hour, door-to-door service.
