Pickup is available from hotels located in Cusco city center. Please be ready in the hotel lobby 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup time. If your hotel is outside the historic center, we will coordinate a nearby meeting point.
Your journey begins early in Cusco at 6:00 AM, traveling along the famous Route of the Sun from Cusco to Puno, one of the most scenic routes in the Peruvian Andes. Along the way, enjoy spectacular Andean landscapes, traditional villages, and historical sites. The first stop is Andahuaylillas, home to the beautiful San Pedro Church, often called the Sistine Chapel of the Andes because of its impressive colonial artwork and murals.
The journey continues to Raqchi Archaeological Site, where you will explore the Temple of Wiracocha, one of the most important Inca religious structures. Next, we stop in Sicuani to enjoy a buffet lunch with traditional Andean cuisine. After lunch, the route reaches La Raya Pass (4,335 m / 14,222 ft), the highest point between Cusco and Puno, offering breathtaking views of the Andes Mountains.
The final stop is Pukara, an ancient pre-Inca cultural center known for its museum and traditional stone sculptures. Arrival in Puno, the gateway to Lake Titicaca, is around 5:00 PM, followed by transfer to your hotel.
The Lake Titicaca Islands Tour begins at 7:00 AM with a scenic boat tour on Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. The first stop is the famous Uros Floating Islands, unique islands built entirely from totora reeds. Here you will learn about the traditions, culture, and daily life of the Uros community. The journey continues by boat to Amantani Island, where local families welcome visitors and share their traditional lifestyle. After a home-cooked lunch prepared by the local community, we will hike to the hilltop temples Pacha Tata and Pacha Mama, where you can enjoy incredible sunset views over Lake Titicaca. In the evening, guests enjoy a traditional dinner and cultural experience, followed by an overnight stay with a local family, offering a unique Lake Titicaca homestay experience.
After breakfast with the host family, we continue by boat to Taquile Island, a destination recognized by UNESCO for its traditional textile art and cultural heritage. On the island, we will walk to the main plaza, enjoy panoramic views of Lake Titicaca, and observe local artisans demonstrating their famous hand-woven textiles. After a traditional lunch on Taquile Island, we return by boat to Puno, arriving around 4:00 PM. From there, a transfer will take you to the bus terminal for the night bus from Puno to Cusco. The overnight bus journey takes approximately 10 hours, allowing travelers to rest after exploring the Route of the Sun and the Lake Titicaca islands.
