    Transfer from the airport to the hotel in Cusco. Arrival reception with coca tea at the Hotel. Free day for acclimatization. The city of Cusco is located at an altitude of 3,399 meters.

    City Tour in Cusco

    Cusco Cathedral

    On this day you will discover the best places in Cusco and its surroundings. We will start with the Cathedral located in the Plaza de Armas. It is the main church of the imperial city and was built over the palace of the Inca Wiracocha. The cathedral has more than 300 paintings from the Cusco art school.

    Qorikancha

    Next we will go to Qoricancha, which in the Quechua language means “golden temple”. First temple to be built by the Incas, which was formerly covered with large amounts of gold and silver.

    Sacsayhuaman

    We will leave the city of Cusco to visit the Saqsayhuaman complex, famous for its enormous lithic blocks weighing more than 150 tons. At the time of the Inca empire, it was considered the Temple of Lightning, “the god Illapa”.

    Q'enqo

    Next, we will visit the temple of Q’enqo, a place dedicated to Pacha Mama (Mother Earth) where you can see carved stone buildings.

    After arriving at the impressive Inca fort Puka Pukara, which in the Quechua language means Red Fortress.

    Tambomachay

    Finally, we will arrive at Tambomachay, where we will see the sacred temple dedicated to the cult of water, which probably also served as a purification bath for the Inca rulers. At the end of the afternoon we will return to Cusco, where we will drop you off at your hotel or, if you prefer, at the Plaza de Armas.

    Sacred Valley of the Incas

    Pisac

    On this day you will discover the wonderful Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will start the day by visiting the Pisaq archaeological complex located on top of a mountain. This wonderful place is made up of groups of terraces and architectural structures scattered across its slopes and high up on the mountain. A wonderful mix of landscape and buildings.

    Next we will go to the crafts market where you can appreciate a wide variety of works from ancient times.

    Urubamba

    We will pass through Urubamba where we will take a lunch break. We will taste typical Peruvian cuisine with a variety of dishes including salads, soups, hot dishes, the famous ceviche and delicious desserts.

    Archaeological Park Ollantaytambo

    After lunch, we will visit the architectural complex of Ollatantaytambo, a living settlement built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it against possible invaders. We will have the opportunity to walk through its streets and get a clearer idea of what this military, religious and cultural center was like during the Inca Empire.

    After the visit, we will board the train towards Aguas Calientes. Upon your arrival, the hotel representative will be waiting to take you to your hotel.

    Machu Picchu - Cusco

    Machu Picchu

    Early in the morning, your guide will stop by your hotel, so we can head to the bus station. We will continue on a journey of approximately 30 minutes until we reach the citadel of Machu Picchu where we will pass through the control gate and then begin our guided tour, getting to know the main places such as the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Rooms , the Temple of the Three Windows, for around 2h30min. Afterwards, we will have free time to stroll around the citadel and have lunch in one of the many restaurants in Aguas Calientes or, if you prefer, at the Sanctuary Lodge Hotel (lunch not included in the program). In the afternoon we will take the train back to Cusco, where upon arrival, our transport will be there to transport you to your hotel.
