Upon arrival at Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, our team will be waiting to give you a warm welcome. We will then transfer you privately to your hotel, where you can relax and enjoy your night at Hotel Kamana, located in the heart of Lima, close to the city's main tourist attractions.
Very important: On this day, take an early flight from Lima, preferably at 5:00 AM or a morning flight. The idea is to arrive early in Cusco to be able to carry out the tour. We warmly welcome you and pick you up from the Cusco airport to take you to your hotel. After settling in, we’ll explore the magical city of Cusco and the impressive Incan constructions that surround it. Our tour will start at the Cathedral, then we’ll visit Qorikancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puka Pukara, and finally, Tambomachay.
On this second day, we will pick you up from your hotel around 8:00 AM to explore the Sacred Valley. Our first stop will be the town of Pisac, known for its exceptional crafts. After enjoying the charming atmosphere, we’ll visit the archaeological center to dive into its history. At midday, we’ll stop for lunch in Urubamba, and then head to Ollantaytambo, where we will board the train to Aguas Calientes. Once there, you’ll have time for a short walk around this charming town.
Aguas Calientes Village – Bus and tour to explore Machu Picchu & Huayna Picchu – In the afternoon, train return to Cusco. On the third day, we start early. Our guide will pick you up at the hotel and accompany you to the bus station, from where we’ll travel to the entrance of the Machu Picchu Archaeological Sanctuary. The journey lasts approximately 25 minutes, and we’ll finally reach this wonder. The Machu Picchu tour will offer an incredible guided experience lasting about 2 hours, allowing you to explore in detail one of the Seven Wonders of the World. You'll discover unique stone structures full of mystery and incredible energy. In the afternoon, we’ll return by train and pick you up at the station to transfer you to your hotel in Cusco.
We begin early and pick you up from your hotel to head to the Qorikancha temple to witness the ancient and sacred “Festival of the Sun.” Accompanied by our guide, we will then proceed to the Plaza Mayor in Cusco, where the Inca delivers a message to the people of Cusco. Finally, we’ll visit the Sacsayhuaman fortress, where you can observe the impressive Andean festival from a grandstand, including sacred rituals in honor of the Sun God, dances, music, and traditional attire. After enjoying this incredible ceremony, we will return to the city of Cusco.
From the hotel in Cusco – Private transfer to the airport – Flight to Lima. Option to stay in Lima or take a night bus to Huaraz. After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to Cusco Airport to board your departure flight, marking the conclusion of the Inti Raymi 2025 Tour. In the afternoon, you will arrive in Lima. On this day, we will take a night bus to Huaraz, which departs at 10:00 PM. The journey covers 400 kilometers and takes approximately 8 hours, with an arrival in Huaraz in the morning.
The trail to Laguna Churup is one of the classic hikes of the Cordillera Blanca, challenging but a great acclimatization route. We drive to the village of Llupa, and from there begin our hike on an ancient Inca trail to Laguna (Lake) Churup. The trail narrows and steepens, but also becomes more interesting, including a small climb with fixed ropes. It is one of the most beautiful places in this varied mountain region. Churup Peak rises above the lake, a wild rocky mountain with glaciers and cliffs 5,400 meters above sea level. Here we can continue climbing and do a loop to the Churup summit trail before returning to the trailhead and back to Huaraz for the night.
Laguna 69 has been called the most famous and well known lake in the Cordillera Blanca. Our trail winds through picturesque montane forests and a somewhat marshy area, always alongside a steep and daunting ridge. Behind us, the fortress-like peak of the ice giant Huascarán looms. Winding trails lead us past several wild foaming waterfalls to the lake. Laguna 69 is flanked by glacial moraines. Immediately above the deep blue surface of the lake, we see the steep ice walls of Chacraraju, one of the most beautiful, but also most difficult of the 6000 peaks in the Cordillera Blanca. After rest and pictures, we return to Huaraz.
Day 8: June 28, 2025 - Huaraz – Tour Laguna Paron (4250 m) - Transfer to Hualcayan (3250 m) - Departure point for trekking routes, camp Pueblo de Hualcayan Option: Laguna Parón Tour Variant To do this tour, we will depart early from Huaraz heading towards Laguna Parón. After the visit, we will continue to the village of Hualcayan. This is the beginning of the “Trans Cordillera Blanca Grande” trek around Alpamayo and Huascarán. We travel by vehicle through the Santa Valley and the villages of Carhuaz, Yungay and Caras to the ruins of Hualcayan, the remains of towers from the Inca age. We meet with our support team and their pack animals. Night in camp.
The first of a total of 8 days of trekking on the Cordillera Blanca tour begins by climbing the winding steep trail to Wishcash Camp. In the afternoon we can watch the beautiful sunset over the Cordillera Negra.
Camp Wishcash – Paso Cullicocha (4600 m / 15,091 ft) – Paso Vientunan (4800 m / 15,748 ft) – Ruinapampa (4100 m) This will be a long and difficult day. We pass by the large nearby lake, Cullicocha, with fantastic views of the Santa Cruz peaks and glaciers, and continue to Osoruri Pass (4,860 m.) After a descent of 400 meters, we climb over Vientunan Pass (4,770 m) and finally drop sharply into the valley of Cedros Alpamayo (Alpamayo Cedars.) After this 8-9 hour day we reach Ruina Pampa Camp (4000 m.)
Camp Ruina Pampa - Trekking to Cruze Alpamayo Jancarurish (4250 m) – in the afternoon, visit the view of Alpamayo and the lagoon. A short, scenic stage, amazing because of what is ahead – a beautiful view of Cruze Alpamayo, 4,250 m. Those who wish can climb to Alpamayo Base Camp North (4,500 m) and do an optional summit hike to Jatunjirca Peak (5030 m) allowing you to get above 5000 meters. Fantastic views of Alpamayo (5,947 m) and Quitaraju (6,036 m.) Alternative: Spend a half day resting in the Cruze Alpamayo Camp, with a beautiful view of Alpamayo.
Today we hike over two passes, Caracara (4,830 m) and Mesapata (4,460 m), with spectacular views of the northern part of Alpamayo and the Pucachircas peaks, the northernmost of the 6000 meter peaks in the Cordillera Blanca. Set up camp in the vast flatness of the Tayapampa Valley and then continue to Laguna Safuna (4,200 m) for an afternoon visit.
As we continue our trek, a few kilometers from the valley in a wide open grassland we pass two houses of local farmers, and continue up a steep slope to Pucahirca Pass (4,610 m) followed by a long descent to a lake on the far side of the densely-vegetated Yanajanca Valley. Camp at Jancapampa, directly below the ice walls of the peaks of Pucahirca and Taulliraju. In the area around the camp area there are many local rural folks.
We set out on the right side of the Jancapampa valley, continuing to Tupatupa Pass and a long descent to the forested Tuctubamba Valley. We stay in large tents with a view of Laguna Huercrucocha (4,050 m).
This day, we will trek towards Paso Pucaraju (4750 m). We will camp at Tuctupampa or Amamapampa with a view of Nevado Taulliraju. On this day, we will begin the classic and famous Santa Cruz trek, which will take us to the base camp of the world’s most beautiful mountain, Nevado Alpamayo.
Camp Amapampa – Trekking to Punta Union (4750 m), trekking down past the Taullipampa camp – Hiking to Alpamayo Base Camp (4350 m). This day, we will trek towards Punta Unión Pass, the highest point of this circuit (4750 m). Afterward, we will pass through the famous classic campsite, Taullipampa (4250 m). After approximately 7 to 8 hours of hiking, we will reach Alpamayo Base Camp (4350 m). If we still have energy, we can continue hiking to Carhuacocha Lagoon.
Alpamayo Base Camp – Ascent to Alpamayo Moraine Camp (4900 m) – Continue to High Camp (5300 m) to see the famous face of Alpamayo, then return to Base Camp. Today, we will have breakfast and prepare our expedition gear for Alpamayo. For this ascent, we will need ropes, crampons, technical ice axes, and ice screws. At 1:00 AM, after breakfast at Base Camp, we will begin our ascent toward the moraine. The trail leads us through rugged moraine terrain to the glacier tongue and up to Moraine Camp (4900 m). We then continue toward High Camp (5300 m), where we can admire the famous face of Nevado Alpamayo. After enjoying the view, we will begin our descent, arriving at Base Camp around 3:00 or 4:00 PM. This marks the end of our exclusive express tour.
Today we rise early in order to begin our hike, descending through the Santa Cruz valley to Cashapampa (about 6 hours.) In this village our minibus awaits to take us and the local expedition team back to Huaraz. Lodging at the hotel.
From Huaraz – Transfer to Anta Airport for a 1-hour flight to Lima, or transfer to the bus terminal for an 8-hour journey to Lima. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Options: Flights are operated by LATAM-Peru and take approximately 1-Hour minutes. Or, take an exclusive bus seat for a 400 km, 8-hour journey to Lima. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in Lima, Hotel Kamana (3-star).
After breakfast at the hotel, you will have free time to explore Lima at your own pace or relax before your flight. Depending on your departure schedule, a private transfer will take you from the hotel to Jorge Chávez International Airport. Assistance will be provided for check-in and boarding formalities.
