We will pick you up from your hotel in Huaraz and drive north through the Santa River Valley, between the Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Negra. Along the way, we pass traditional Andean villages and enjoy views of Huascarán (6,768 m), Peru’s highest peak. Entering Huascarán National Park, we continue to Cebollapampa (3,900 m), where our hike begins. From here, we ascend steadily to Pisco Base Camp (4,665 m), a 3–4 hour gradual climb ideal for acclimatization. At base camp, enjoy panoramic mountain views and, weather permitting, a beautiful Andean sunset. Distance: 85 km (drive) / 7 km (hike) Duration: 3 hours (drive) / 3–4 hours (hike) Elevation gain: +750 m Departure: 8:00 a.m.
After breakfast, we hike toward the spectacular Laguna 69 (4,600 m). The trail follows a scenic high-altitude route through the upper valley, offering exceptional panoramic views of glaciers, waterfalls, and surrounding snow-capped peaks. Laguna 69 is a stunning turquoise lake nestled beneath the towering summits of Chacraraju (6,145 m) and Pisco (5,752 m). The contrast between the deep blue waters and the dramatic glacier-covered peaks creates one of the most iconic landscapes in the Peruvian Andes. After spending time at the lake to rest, take photos, and enjoy the scenery, we descend along a long but beautiful trail back to Cebollapampa, where our private transport will be waiting to take us back to Huaraz. Distance: approx. 12 km (hike) / 85 km (transfer) Duration: 6–7 hours (hike) / 3 hours (transfer)
