It is a mountain with easy access, very popular among visitors to Huaraz. It is perfect for beginners and great for acclimatization before climbing high mountains. Mateo Summit offers stunning views of Peru’s highest peaks, such as Huascarán, Chopicalqui, Ulta, Contrahierbas, and other summits.
NOTE:

Very important information:
- Available spots for tomorrow: Departures daily at 3:00 a.m.
- Important: Test the mountain technical gear one day prior, including mountain boots, harness, crampons, ice axe, and helmet. It is necessary to schedule an appointment to visit our office.
- Participation not allowed: You cannot join this trip without testing the mountain technical gear in advance.
- Not included: Gore-Tex mountain pants, Gore-Tex jacket, down jacket for cold, hat, gloves, UV-protected sunglasses, sunscreen, first aid kit, etc.

    Day 1: Huaraz - Tranfer to Paso Punta Olimpica (4.736 m) - Nevado Mateo (5150 m), one-day guided ascent A technically easy one-day ascent to the Nevado Mateo in the Cordillera Blanca. This amazing and fun expedition will be led by Eric Albino Lliuya, a local AGOMP peruvian mountain guide.
