From day one, you will enter an amazing natural world: cross the Andes, explore cloud forests and descend into the low forest, home to thousands of species. You’ll sleep in eco-lodges surrounded by the sounds of the jungle, walks along quiet rivers, and walk on trails where wildlife manifests itself unfiltered.

Monkeys, macaws, alligators, tapirs... and with a little luck, you can see the imposing jaguar in its natural habitat.

Pickup is included for hotels located in the historic center of Cusco. If your accommodation is outside this area, we will provide you with a close and accessible meeting point.

One day before the tour, we will hold a briefing (briefing) to give you all the details of the trip, solve doubts and coordinate the exact pickup time. This information will also be sent by WhatsApp or email.

    Day 1

    Day 1 : Cusco – Ajanaco – Watchtower – EcoLodge

    The tour starts at 3:00 a.m. with pick-up from the hotel in Cusco. We cross the Andes to Paucartambo for breakfast. Then we follow the viewpoint of Ajanaco, entrance to the Reserved Zone of the Manu, where the search is made. Weather permitting, you will appreciate the cloud forest and the transition between the Andes and the Amazon. We descend through the cloud forest watching tropical birds, monkeys and hopefully the bespectacled bear. It is also possible to spot the rooster of the rocks, national bird of Peru. At noon we arrived at the port of Atalaya, where we received boots and vests. From there, we continue about three hours along the Madre de Dios River to Explore Golden Lodge, watching turtles, monkeys and birds along the way. Upon arrival, the rooms are assigned. In the afternoon we take a hike in the jungle and in the evening, dinner is served. It is a long day, but full of nature and emotion.

    EcoLodge – Reserved Area – Casa Machiguenga

    The second day begins with a quiet dawn tour of the Madre de Dios River, while breakfast is served on board. This time is ideal for viewing active wildlife. When we reach the confluence with the Manu River, we enter the Reserved Zone of Manu National Park, one of the places with the most biodiversity on the planet. The jungle becomes denser, the environment silent, and the connection to nature is deep. Hopefully, you can see a jaguar, black alligators up to 7 meters, white alligators, turtles and Amazon birds. In the afternoon a night walk is held to observe frogs, tarantulas and snakes. The day ends at Casa Machiguenga, an ecological and community hostel in the heart of the Reserved Zone, built by local families. It offers a simple, authentic experience in harmony with the jungle.

    Casa Machiguenga – Cocha Salvador and Cocha Otorongo

    The day begins with a visit to two emblematic Amazon rainforest cars. In the morning we explore the Savior Cocha aboard a silent catamaran, allowing a close experience with the fauna. It is possible to observe giant otters, howler monkeys, spider monkeys and birds such as agami heron. Then, on a guided walk, you learn about the forest flora, including ancient trees like fig and ceiba. After lunch, we visit the Cocha Otorongo, where we ascend to a 20-meter observation tower to gaze at the jungle and hopefully see a jaguar. At night we hike in search of active fauna such as birds and spider monkeys. We close the day with a second night at Casa Machiguenga, surrounded by the sounds of the jungle.

    Casa Machiguenga – Hot Springs – EcoLodge

    After breakfast, we begin our return by moving slowly along the Manu River. This relaxed journey allows you to continue observing wildlife along the banks. During the tour, we make a special stop at a natural hot spring, ideal for relaxing. It is also possible to bathe in a nearby waterfall, surrounded by vegetation and sounds of the jungle. Then we continue to the last hostel of the trip, enjoying the landscape and the subtle changes in the ecosystem. This day invites us to reflect on what we have experienced, share experiences with the group and continue connecting with the deep Amazon. The night is spent in a comfortable hostel in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by natural sounds. It is the last chance to enjoy the surroundings before starting the return.

    Manu Lodge – Watchtower – Cusco

    Cusco

    After breakfast, we started the journey back to Cusco. We travel for the last time along the Madre de Dios River towards the port of Atalaya, enjoying the Amazonian landscape. In Atalaya, a private transport is waiting to take us back by road. As we go, the landscape changes from the jungle to the Andes. We stop at the Ajanaco viewpoint, where we share the last lunch and take pictures in a unique natural environment. Then we cross the cloud forest and the Andean highlands, remembering the biodiversity and culture experienced. Arrival in Cusco is scheduled for 5:00 p.m., with transfer to the hotel. This last day closes a transformative experience, full of nature, adventure and connection with the Amazon.
