We will meet at 06:00 am at our meeting point. Then we will depart to Mollepata, a small village and have breakfast here.
After breakfast we will travel to Soraypampa from where we will hike for 2 hours through Andean communities. We will have lunch in Soraypampa and then hike for 4 hours across the Humantay Lake to the camp.
After our breakfast on the second day, we will set off to the top of the Salkantay Pass or Apacheta Pass trek. We will observe the peak of Salkantay.
We will start descending the hill for 3 hours and observe small lagoons of the Humantay mountain. We will have lunch in Huayracmachay and then hike to Collpapampa where we will camp for the night.
The next morning of our third day to Machu Picchu we will hike for 4 hours through a cloud forest. We will see plantations, farmers and beautiful waterfalls, as well as the Peruvian National bird, the Cock of the Rock.
While we have our lunch, we will travel for 45 minutes to the camp in Santa Teresa.
After having an incredible breakfast, we will hike back to the train station. Here we will have lunch. Afterwards we will walk along the train tracks to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will have a glimpse of the Machu Picchu mountain.
When we arrive in the town of Aguas Calientes we will stay in a hotel for the night. We will be briefed about the next day's itinerary. We will have dinner here.
On our last day of trekking to Machu Picchu, we will hike up the hill from Aguas Calientes, if you wish you can go by bus, it has an additional cost. Be sure to bring your ID card with you. Start the 2 hour guided tour of the citadel. You will observe the way of life of the Incas, you can walk to the Sun Gate. After finishing the tour you will return to Aguas Calientes town.
When you return to Aguas Calientes you will head to the hydroelectric station, where the guides will meet you. Start your transfer to Cusco.
You will return to your starting point in Cusco.
