Pick up and Drop off will be at the front of the exit Gate outside Alexandria Port .
You will be picked up from Alexandria Port to begin your private 2-day tour to Cairo. Your first stop will be the legendary Giza Pyramids, where you will visit the Great Pyramids of Giza: Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Continue to the Valley Temple, the sacred site where priests once mummified the body of King Chephren, owner of the second pyramid on the Giza Plateau. From here, enjoy a close-up view of the Great Sphinx, the iconic guardian of the pyramid complex, featuring the body of a lion and the head of King Chephren. A lunch at a local restaurant is included during the tour, offering a full meal for each guest. (Beverages are not included.)
Continue your tour to Sakkara, located about 27 km southwest of Cairo, where you will visit the famous Step Pyramid of King Zoser. This remarkable structure represents a crucial stage in the evolution of pyramid construction, transitioning from the simple mastaba tombs to the classic pyramid shape known today. Next, proceed to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, dating back to 3100 B.C. Here, you will see the impressive Colossal Statue of Ramses II and the Alabaster Sphinx. At the end of the day, you will be transferred to a 4-star hotel for an overnight stay on a Bed & Breakfast basis, allowing you to relax and prepare for the next day’s adventures.
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, your tour guide will pick you up to begin your second day of sightseeing. The tour will start with a visit to the Egyptian Museum, home to the world’s most extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities, including the priceless treasures of King Tutankhamun.
There will be time for a panoramic photo stop overlooking Cairo and the River Nile, before continuing to an external visit to the Citadel of Saladin and the Mohammed Ali Alabaster Mosque.
Then continue to Old Cairo, where you will visit and enter the Church of Abu Serga, St. Barbara Church, the Hanging Church, and the historic Ben Ezra Synagogue. At the end of the tour, you will be escorted back to Alexandria, followed by a transfer to Alexandria Port.
