Your great Inca Trail adventure begins with pickup from your accommodation at 4:30 a.m., followed by a drive to Ollantaytambo
Known as the last living Inca city, where you will enjoy a delicious breakfast before continuing on to the start of the trail in Piscacucho (KM 82).
The hike begins with a gentle section that allows you to acclimate while taking in beautiful Andean landscapes and visiting archaeological sites such as Canabamba, Wilkaracay, and Llactapata, all framed by the majestic Andes and the Urubamba River.
After lunch in Tarayoc, you’ll continue along nature-filled paths until reaching the first campsite in Ayapata, where a warm dinner and a peaceful night under the stars await you.
The day begins with a warm cup of coca tea and a nutritious breakfast to prepare for the most challenging section of the trek: the ascent to Dead Woman’s Pass.
At 4,215 m (13,829 ft), Dead Woman’s Pass offers incredible views. After a short rest, we’ll descend to Pacaymayo.
In Pacaymayu for a delicious lunch and to recharge your energy.
You will then continue toward the archaeological site of Runkurakay, followed by the Runkurakay Pass, where you’ll have the chance to make a brief offering to Pachamama.
The route continues with a visit to the Sayaqmarka complex, an Inca construction perched on the mountainside with spectacular sunset views over the Vilcabamba range.
Finally, you’ll arrive at your Chaquiqocha campsite, where a comforting dinner under a starry sky awaits.
Today brings the most relaxed and awe-inspiring day of the trek. At 6:30 a.m., you’ll enjoy a delicious breakfast before starting a one-and-a-half-hour hike to Phuyupatamarka (3,650 m / 11,975 ft)
a mystical site “above the clouds” with a spiritual atmosphere and unforgettable panoramic views. From there, you’ll descend along ancient trails for about two and a half hours until reaching Intipata.
an old agricultural area with terraces overlooking the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the winding Urubamba River. You’ll then continue toward the campsite, located near the archaeological site of Wiñay Wayna, meaning “forever young,” one of the most impressive spots along the trail.
After lunch, you’ll explore this fascinating complex with your guide, and in the afternoon, enjoy a small farewell celebration with the team of porters and cooks to thank them for their support throughout the journey.
The day ends early so you can rest well before the exciting sunrise entrance to Machu Picchu.
Today is the big day, your effort will be rewarded with the most anticipated view of the entire journey. Very early, at 3:30 a.m., after receiving your breakfast
You’ll begin a roughly one-hour hike to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku). From this sacred viewpoint, you’ll witness the first rays of dawn illuminating Machu Picchu, a mystical and powerful sight that marks the culmination of this unforgettable trek.
After descending to the citadel, you’ll enjoy a stunning panoramic view and have the chance to take the iconic postcard photo of the wonder. If you booked in advance, you may also climb Huayna Picchu or Huchuy Picchu for even more spectacular views.
You will then take the bus down to Aguas Calientes for lunch before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo.
Relax as you return to Cusco aboard the Vistadome Panoramic train, where large windows reveal unforgettable views as the lush Cusco jungle gives way to the Andean highlands.
In Ollantaytambo, where our private transportation will be waiting to take you back to Cusco.
