Your journey begins with your pick up at your hotel in Cusco following by the scenic drive to the charming town of Chinchero
Chinchero, located 28 km away on the route to Urubamba. Here, you’ll explore the featuring a beautiful colonial church built atop ancient Inca foundations. Chinchero is also famous for its traditional craft market, where local artisans showcase colorful textiles and handicrafts made using ancestral weaving techniques and natural dyes.
Continue to Moray, an archaeological site just 7 km from Maras, known for its impressive circular terraces built at various depths. These terraces are believed to have been an ancient agricultural research center, where the Incas experimented with different microclimates. Moray is also considered a spiritual site, associated with the feminine energy of Pachamama (Mother Earth).
Next, visit the stunning Maras Salt Mines, a breathtaking landscape of over 3,000 salt pools carved into the mountainside. Dating back to pre-Inca times, these salt pans still produce high-quality salt through natural evaporation of mineral-rich water flowing from a nearby spring. The contrasting white pools against the green valley make for incredible photographs.
