    Cusco → Calca → Lares Hot Springs → Wacawasi Campsite

    Cusco

    Your adventure begins at 6:00 AM, with hotel pickup in Cusco. Travel through the Sacred Valley, passing Inca terraces, local markets, and traditional villages. We’ll cross the Huacacasi Pass (4,450 m / 14,600 ft)—the highest point of the journey—before descending into the scenic Lares Valley (3,250 m / 10,660 ft). Here, relax in the natural hot springs, a perfect way to unwind and acclimate. A buffet lunch is served on-site. After lunch, meet your trekking team: a dedicated cook and llameros (handlers), along with llamas or horses that will carry your gear. Begin a 3-hour uphill hike to Wacawasi, where we’ll set up camp. Later, enjoy a cultural exchange with locals, including a weaving demonstration showcasing ancient Andean textile traditions.

    Wacawasi – Abra Ipsay – Patacancha Camping

    Wake up to a scenic country breakfast at 7:00 AM before starting the most challenging day of the trek. Hike 7–8 hours, climbing to Abra Ipsay (4,480 m) with breathtaking views of the Pitusiray, Sawasiray, and Chicon peaks.

    After lunch en route, descend to the village of Patacancha (3,720 m). Upon arrival, set up camp and enjoy free time to explore the village on your own.

    Patacancha – Willoq – Pumamarca – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes

    After breakfast, begin the scenic descent through traditional Quechua communities such as Willoq and Pumamarca, known for preserving Inca customs and colorful weavings. Continue through picturesque landscapes until reaching the Inca town of Ollantaytambo, home to impressive archaeological remains.

    Aguas Calientes

    In the late afternoon (between 4–5 PM), board the train to Aguas Calientes for a spectacular journey along the Vilcanota River, passing through the Sacred Valley and into the lush cloud forest. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your comfortable hotel for the night.

    Begin your final adventure early in the morning with hotel pickup between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m.. You’ll take one of the first shared tourist buses to Machu Picchu. At the main entrance, show your original passport (and ISIC card, if applicable) to enter the sacred citadel. Your private guided tour (approx. 2 to 3 hours) will take you through the most important areas of the site: The urban sector The agricultural zone The religious and ceremonial areas After the tour, enjoy free time to explore at your own pace, take photos, or simply soak in the magic of this ancient wonder. If booked in advance, you can hike to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain for panoramic views over the Inca sanctuary and surrounding cloud forest.
