The short Inca Trail (a two-day trek) to Machu Picchu is a route that’s perfect for nature lovers; along this route, we will be able to observe the different types of wild orchids, as well as animals in their natural habitat. You will have an incredible experience in a shorter period, so you will visit Machu Picchu up to two times. During your trek along the Short Inca Trail, we will offer you a box lunch prepared by our chef who specializes in typical food of the region; the food is made with organic products grown by us, and your food will be based on your energy requirements for the Short Inca Trail. During your visit on the second day, you will be able to climb the famous Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. Come and explore this oasis of orchids!

We will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the train station in Ollantaytambo. From there, we will travel on a scenic train for one hour to reach Km 104, which is the starting point of the Trail. During the journey, you will witness the breathtaking beauty of the Sacred Valley, which is why the Incas considered it sacred. As we descend into the cloud forest, you will see the picturesque Urubamba River flowing through the landscape. Once we arrive at the trailhead, our first stop will be at the Chachabamba site. We will then embark on a 3-hour uphill hike to reach the magnificent Wiñay Wayna, which will also serve as our lunch spot for the day. Afterward, we will continue our journey through the tropical forest for 2 hours until we reach Sun Gate. Here, we will get our first panoramic view of Machu Picchu. From here, we will walk for 30 minutes to reach the citadel, where we can enjoy the sunset. Later, a bus will transport us to Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night.
After a warm breakfast, we’ll take the first bus up to Machu Picchu to watch the sunrise and enjoy the tranquility and beauty of this magical site. We’ll pass through the control gate to begin our 2-3 hour guided tour of Machu Picchu’s most important areas. Your guide will explain the site’s enchanting architecture and history, all while you take in the site’s unrivalled beauty. After the visit, we’ll return to Aguas Calientes by bus for an afternoon snack and to catch the train back to Ollantaytambo. A private Van will be waiting for to you to take you back to your hotel in Cusco or Urubamba.
