The short excursion to Machu Picchu begins with pick up at your hotel at 4:00 am to take the train from Ollantaytambo. The train follows the Urubamba River trail until we reach Km 104, where we will begin our hike. We will then head out to visit our first Inca site. Then we will start walking as we head towards the Classic Inca Trail. We will have tremendous views of Machu Picchu, the Urubamba River and other surrounding Inca sites. After three hours of hiking, we will arrive at the most beautiful Inca site on the Inca Trail, Wiñay Wayna, where people have the opportunity to see these elaborate water fountains, temples and agricultural terraces. Here you will enjoy a freshly cooked lunch by Alpaca Expeditions' chefs. From Wiñay Wayna, we will walk to the Sun Gate. This is where we will see the picturesque scenery of the famous Machu Picchu. After enjoying the once-in-a-lifetime views, we will begin our descent to Machu Picchu and take the bus to Aguas Calientes.

4Machu Picchu
Today will be all about Machu Picchu. To make the most of the day we encourage all groups to have an early breakfast before taking one of the first buses up to Machu Picchu. This allows you to get ahead of the crowds. Your guide will provide you with a full guided tour throughout the great citadel of Machu Picchu. The guided tour will last Approx. 2.5 hours. Your guide will end the tour and wait for you in Aguas Calientes. After lunch, you will head to the train station to take your train back to Ollantaytambo. Our driver will pick you up and take you back to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel.
