What to expect

Travelers will be welcomed by local chefs and introduced to the cultural significance of Pachamanca, an ancient Andean cooking tradition. They will learn about the native ingredients and traditional techniques used in this underground cooking method.

Participants will take part in the preparation of the Pachamanca, including marinating meats with Andean herbs and spices, preparing native potatoes, corn, and seasonal vegetables, and helping to assemble the earth oven using hot stones.

While the Pachamanca cooks underground, travelers will have time to relax, enjoy the surroundings, and learn more about Andean gastronomy and local traditions.

Once the cooking process is complete, travelers will help open the earth oven and enjoy a shared traditional Pachamanca meal, served fresh and eaten together in a communal setting.

The experience concludes with time to enjoy the meal, ask questions, and connect with the hosts before the activity ends.
