The 4-day trek from Lares trek is an alternative route that takes us to know the wonder of the Andean villages that still preserve their traditions and customs. It is a remote region that offers the visitor a privileged view of traditional Andean life: a timeless world where farmers plant their crops in the lands that their ancestors tended and watch the herds of llamas and alpacas under the sacred snow-capped peaks that they worshipped as gods. we will walk surrounded by alpacas, llamas and under the foothills of the Andes with incredible views of lakes and glaciers. We offer this alternative route to Lares Trek and visit the Inca city of Machu Picchu. We will visit the thermal medicinal waters on day 3, a well deserved reward for completing the trekking part of the Lares route. Itinerary

    Day 1

    CUSCO - SACRED VALLEY - LARES HOT SPRINGS - QUISHUARANI

    You will be picked up from your hotel around 5 am to start the tour from Lares to Machu Picchu. The pick up points will be from any indicated point such as hotel, apartment located in the city of Cusco, Urubamba or Pisaq. After the pick up we will have a 2 hour tour through the Sacred Valley of the Incas until we reach the town of Lares. Once we arrive at the place you can enjoy the thermal baths. After enjoying the medicinal baths you will have the privilege to enjoy your first breakfast. After breakfast we will continue with the tour so we will take the transport for 15 minutes to the village of cuncani. From this point we will start the 2 hour hike. Once we arrive to quishuarani chef will be waiting for us with a delicious lunch. After lunch we will walk another 2 hours to our camp. When we arrive at the camp our chef will be waiting for us with a hot tea.

    QUISHUARANI - PASO PACHACUTEC -ACOPATA - CANCHA CANCHA

    Today we will wake you up at 5.00 am your guide will wake you up with a cup of hot tea. After waking up you will have 30 minutes to prepare your belongings and then enjoy breakfast. After breakfast you will start the 4 hour hike uphill to the Pachacutec pass (4700 m/15267 ft) on the way you will enjoy beautiful landscapes, you will walk surrounded by llamas, sheep and alpacas. Then we will descend for 2 hours until we reach the lunch place enjoying beautiful landscapes and blue lagoons. Then we will continue with our adventure we will continue descending for another 2 hours until we arrive to our camp in cancha cancha when we arrive your tents will be ready with a hot drink to enjoy the view of the mountains. you will have time to interact and walk around the small village of cancha cancha appreciate the alpacas the llamas visit the local school. The place is beautiful at night the sky will be clear.

    CANCHA CANCHA - HUARAN - MARAS SALT MINES - OLLANTAYTAMBO - AGUAS CALIENTES

    Day 3 will start with a delicious breakfast prepared by the chef of aliperutreks we will start the 4 hour hike downhill from the lands of cancha cancha to the sacred valley before starting the hike we will visit the local houses of the village we will learn about the production of the Andean potato. After practicing the culture of the community we say goodbye to the villagers of cancha cancha and start our hike to the sacred valley where corn is the main agricultural product. The tour will end in a small village called Huaran. From Huaran, we will take our private bus to visit the salt mines of Maras. After visiting the salt mines of Maras, we will board our private bus for a 1 hour trip to Ollantaytambo. In Ollantaytambo we will stop to visit the town as it is considered the only living Inca village. Before taking the train to Aguas Calientes, we will have dinner at a local restaurant and then take the 7.00pm train to Aguas Calientes, spending the night in a 3-star hotel.

    MACHU PICCHU- OLLANTAYTAMBO - CUSCO

    Today will be a wonderful day, it is finally time to visit Machu Picchu: After an early breakfast at your hotel you will only have to carry your backpack with everything you need. The hotel will store your luggage for you while you are in Machu Picchu. The bus ride from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu takes approximately 25 minutes, once in Machu Picchu the guide will give you a two hour tour.during this guided tour, you will learn more about the history and culture of the Inca Empire.you will also have enough time to explore on your own.we recommend you return to Aguas Calientes no later than 2 hours before the departure of your train. The return train ride from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo will take approximately 2 hours. In Ollantaytambo our staff will be waiting for you to take you back to Cuzco and drop you off at your hotel.

    Huayna Picchu

    Huayna Picchu, which means young mountain, is located at 2,660 m.a.s.l./8,724 ft. in the Cusco region. Its circular base is surrounded by the Vilcanota River on the north side of the citadel of Machupicchu. Its construction must have been forced and extremely dangerous: it is a very steep and narrow path, which includes several stretches with stairs carved into the living rock at the very edge of the vertical rock wall. It will take 45 minutes to reach the top of the mountain and the return descent will take 45 minutes.
