    Inca Trail

We will pick you up from your hotel around 4:00 am and transfer you to Ollantaytambo station, then take the train to KM 104. Here you will begin your hike following the original Inca trail through the beautiful Andean mountains. The first Inca ruins you will come across are those of Chachabamba, a small archaeological complex that is believed to have once been a guardhouse for Machu Picchu. From here, the trail ascends with a gradual slope for three hours to reach 2,650 meters. You will visit the site of Wiñay Wayna, which means "Eternal Youth" in the indigenous Quechua language. The name comes from the orchids that dot the landscape, making Wiñay Wayna perhaps the most beautiful place on the Trail. After touring the site and having lunch, you will continue to Inti Punku or the "Sun Gate", from where you can see Machu Picchu in all its majesty and grandeur, and then take the bus to Aguas Calientes and spend the night in a comfortable hotel.

You will then explore the citadel on a 3-hour guided tour. After exploring Machu Picchu, then we will have to take the bus back to the town of Aguas Calientes to have lunch and then take the train back to Ollantaytambo. Huayna Picchu

Huayna Picchu, which means young mountain, is located at 2,660 m.a.s.l./8,724 ft. in the Cusco region. Its circular base is surrounded by the Vilcanota River on the north side of the citadel of Machupicchu. Its construction must have been forced and extremely dangerous: it is a very steep and narrow path, which includes several stretches with stairs carved into the living rock at the very edge of the vertical rock wall. It will take 45 minutes to reach the top of the mountain and the return descent will take 45 minutes.

45 minutes Admission ticket not included
