This tour highlights some of the best spots in the Sacred Valley before taking the train to Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night and take you on a private sunrise tour of Machu Picchu the next day. There is an option to add additional days to visit a local farm and other amazing sites in the Sacred Valley as well as doing a city tour of Cusco.

No trip to Cusco and the Sacred Valley is complete without a visit to Machu Picchu and we will make sure that your journey is unique, memorable, and perfect. Your guide will stay with your for the entire tour providing you with a wealth of information and history about this incredible site. We will book your hotel in the Sacred Valley because the altitude here is lower than in Cusco and you will have an easier time acclimating and can better enjoy your time at Machu Picchu.

    Chinchero

    You will be picked up at 8:00 by private driver at your hotel in the morning. From Cusco or the Sacred Valley, there is a 45-minute drive through beautiful mountains and farmlands to the town of Chinchero in order to visit the women's weaving cooperative where we will watch a demonstration of local weavers who are using Inca techniques for dyeing fabric and for weaving traditional patterns.

    Maras

    Then we will visit Maras, a collection of salt mines that have been used since pre-Inca times to evaporate salt from an underground stream followed by a visit to Moray where will look down below to contemplate the concentric circles that made up an Incan agricultural laboratory. Lunch in Urubamba before taking late afternoon trail to Aguas Calientes.

    Machu Picchu

    Today we will have a very early start (5 am) so that we can arrive at Machu Picchu in time for the majestic sunrise--a once in a lifetime opportunity. In depth guided tour of the site for 2 hours with option to hike to Inti Punku or the Sun gate. Late afternoon train back to Ollantaytambo where we will transfer you to your peaceful 3 star hotel.

    Pisac

    After breakfast at your hotel, you will have an in depth tour of the Inca ruins at Ollantaytambo, which was the lodging of the Inca emperor Pachacutec and later served as a military checkpoint for the Incas trying to protect the roads to Machu Picchu from the invading Spaniards. We will then drive 20 minutes to the town of Yanahuara where we will visit to a farm in the sacred valley, where we will tour the farm lands, cut alfafa to feed the guinea pigs, and see first hand how chicha is made. Then we will drive one hour to the majestic ruins at Pisac where we will visit terraced Inca ruins that are situated high on a mountain followed by a visit to local handicraft market at Pisac. Private transfer to your hotel with accommodations at Tierra viva or similar caliber hotel (3 star)

    Day 4 of the Tour

    Pick up at your hotel. Private tour of Cusco including local market tour, main square, main cathedral, Coricancha (temple of the sun), After lunch, we will drive 30 minutes to Tambomachay which was the Inca temple of the water, and then visit Pukapucara which was a ceremonial place of the Incas. Then we will visit the the Unesco world heritage site of Sacsayhuaman. We will accompany you to your hotel at the end of the tour.
