Qelqanqa is an indigenous community of the Andes, located in the valley of the Patacancha River, belonging to the district of Ollantaytambo, province of Urubamba, in Cusco. It is rich in flora and fauna, where you can find 60 species of birds and more than 700 species of plants. In Qelqanqa there is still a direct descent from the last Incas, which can be corroborated with the current surnames of the locals, such as Sinchi, Huamán, Yupanqui, Quespe, among others.

    8:00 am - 10:00 am Pick up at your hotel and transfer to the QELQANQA community.

    10:00 - 13:00 We will meet the families. We will have a reception with ancestral music and dance, typical costumes of the area and a tasting of teas with natural ingredients. We will also participate in the preparation of pachamanca, which is one of the traditional dishes of the community. Demonstration of fabrics, alpaca wool production process, where they are dyed and spun with natural pigments, crafts, description of iconography. Share lunch (pachamanca) made with natural local ingredients.

    13:00 - 13:30 short break to rest 13:30 - 15:30 We take a short 25-minute walk to the point where the Mother Earth ceremony will take place. The activity will be led by a shaman and local families. 3:30pm- 5:00pm Return to local houses, cultural exchange with families (way of life, language, socialization with local people).

    Excursion to the Yuraq Cocha lagoon 7:00 am Breakfast with the locals 8:00am - 12:30pm We are going to take a walk of about 4 hours to the lagoon. Along the way we will observe local flora, fauna and landscapes.
