We’ll pick you up from your hotel at 8:30 a.m. and drive about 40 minutes southwest of Cusco to reach Tipón, part of the legendary Qhapac Ñan or Inca Trail. This impressive archaeological complex showcases masterful Inca engineering focused on water channels and terraced agriculture.
Next, we’ll visit Pikillaqta, one of the largest and best-preserved pre Inca (Wari) cities in Peru. We’ll also stop by its small site museum, which is well worth a visit. Continuing our journey, we’ll explore Rumiqolqa, once a main gateway to Cusco and a key route toward the Qollasuyo region.
Our final stop will be Andahuaylillas, home to the so called “Sistine Chapel of the Americas,” a stunning colonial church adorned with magnificent murals and baroque art
We’ll return to Cusco around 2:30 p.m., giving you time to rest and prepare for the next leg of the trip. At 4:00 p.m., we’ll take a bus to Ollantaytambo, where you’ll board a train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo) for an overnight stay, ready for your Machu Picchu adventure the following day.
Our day begins at 7:30 a.m. with a short walk to the bus station, where we’ll board the shuttle to the awe inspiring Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The ride takes about 30 minutes, covering 9 kilometers of spectacular Andean scenery.
Upon arrival at the entrance gate, we’ll start a 2 hour guided tour of this ancient Inca citadel. Accompanied by our professional guides, you’ll uncover the history, archaeological secrets, and mystical energy of this sacred site while exploring its temples, plazas, and agricultural terraces. Don’t forget your camera, the panoramic views are simply unforgettable!
After the guided visit, we’ll take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll have free time for lunch, shopping for local crafts, or strolling through its charming streets.
In the afternoon, around 2:00 p.m., we’ll board the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our transport will be waiting to take you to Cusco, arriving approximately at 6:30 p.m.
