Cusco to Rayan via Soqma Our adventure begins early as we pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and embark on a scenic 1.5-hour drive to Soqma, the starting point of our trek. Upon arrival, you'll be treated to a hearty breakfast to fuel you for the day ahead as we prepare for the exciting journey through the breathtaking Andes.
The first part of our trek takes us on a picturesque 1 hour and 45-minute hike to the Perolniyoc Waterfall, a mesmerizing cascade nestled amidst lush greenery. Here, you’ll have time to soak in the beauty of nature and snap some incredible photos. After marveling at the waterfall, we continue our journey with a 45-minute hike to the archaeological site of Perolniyoc. This hidden gem, perched on a cliff, offers both a glimpse into the region's rich history and awe-inspiring views of the surrounding valleys. As we explore the ancient ruins, you’ll learn about their significance and the stories they hold.
Once we've explored the site, we’ll set off on a final one-hour hike to reach our campsite in Rayan. Nestled in the serene Andean landscape, Rayan is the perfect spot to unwind after a day of trekking. Upon arrival, we'll set up camp and indulge in a well-deserved "happy hour" with hot beverages and snacks. As the sun sets and the stars emerge, you'll enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by our team, surrounded by the peaceful ambiance of the mountains.
We begin the day with a revitalizing cup of coca tea to help us acclimate to the altitude, followed by a nourishing breakfast to energize us for the journey ahead. Our trek resumes with a 2-hour hike to Abra Kuychiccasa, where the trail becomes steeper, challenging us with its ascent. However, the effort is well worth it as we are rewarded with panoramic views of the valley below, surrounded by towering peaks and rugged landscapes that make this experience truly unforgettable.
Upon reaching Abra Kuychiccasa, we’ll pause to take in the scenery before continuing on a one-hour hike to our picturesque lunch spot. Here, we’ll enjoy a delicious meal in the open air, allowing us to rest and recharge for the remainder of the day’s trek. After lunch, we embark on the journey toward the Ancascocha community, which spans approximately 4 hours. This portion of the trek takes us along a less-traveled path, offering tranquil and untouched landscapes. The serenity of the surroundings, combined with the opportunity to spot local wildlife, makes this part of the journey particularly special. Keep your eyes peeled for Andean birds, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot a condor soaring above.
As we approach Ancascocha, the landscape begins to shift, and we find ourselves surrounded by the peaceful beauty of this remote region. Once we reach our campsite, we’ll set up for the night and unwind with another delightful "happy hour," complete with warm drinks and snacks. As the evening settles in, we’ll enjoy a hearty dinner under the stars, savoring the tranquility of this secluded area far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Our journey starts with a 1-hour ascent to Abra Huayanay, where we will reach our highest point of the trek. The climb will be challenging, but as we reach the top, we’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the towering Andean peaks that surround us, a true highlight of the trek. The sense of accomplishment and awe at this altitude is unforgettable. After a brief rest to soak in the views and catch our breath, we’ll begin our descent toward the ancient Inca site of Paucarcancha. The downhill path offers a chance to observe the changing landscape as we move from rugged mountains to more verdant valleys. Along the way, we’ll stop at Incaracay, a smaller but fascinating Inca site that gives us a glimpse into the past
Upon arriving at Paucarcancha, we will spend the afternoon exploring this lesser-known archaeological treasure. As we wander through its well-preserved terraces and stone structures, your guide will share insights into the history and significance of this site. Unlike the more frequented ruins, Paucarcancha offers a peaceful and intimate experience, allowing us to connect more deeply with the ancient Incan civilization. As the day draws to a close, we will set up camp near Paucarcancha, surrounded by the serenity of the Andes. We’ll enjoy a well-earned dinner, exchanging stories about the day’s journey and reflecting on the experiences we’ve shared. This evening offers an ideal opportunity for stargazing, as the clear Andean sky reveals a breathtaking display of stars. In the quiet of the night, you’ll have time to reflect on how far we’ve come and prepare for the adventures that still lie ahead.

Setting out from Paucarcancha, we embark on a 5-hour hike along a scenic stretch of the classic Inca Trail that leads us to KM 82. This route will take us through stunning landscapes and offer opportunities to explore two remarkable Inca archaeological sites: Llactapata and Canabamba. These ancient ruins, with their impressive terraces and stone structures, provide unique insights into the history and engineering brilliance of the Inca civilization.
As we reach KM 82, we will pause for a well-deserved lunch, where we can share stories of the morning's trek and reflect on the incredible journey so far. After lunch, we’ll board a comfortable vehicle for a short ride to the charming town of Ollantaytambo. Here, you’ll have a brief moment to take in the town’s quaint atmosphere before we continue our journ
From Ollantaytambo, we’ll hop on a scenic train ride that winds through the Sacred Valley, taking us to the town of Aguas Calientes, the gateway to the majestic Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, we’ll check into our hotel, where you can relax and freshen up after a day of exploration. In the evening, we’ll come together for dinner, discussing our plans and excitement for the next day’s early visit to the iconic Machu Picchu. The anticipation will be palpable as we prepare for the highlight of the journey.
We’ll begin our day bright and early at 5:00 AM, catching the Consettur bus to Machu Picchu. This early start allows us to arrive at the ancient citadel before the larger crowds, giving us a more peaceful and intimate experience of this world wonder.
Once at Machu Picchu, we’ll embark on a 3-hour guided tour that will bring the history and mysteries of this iconic site to life. As we explore the well-preserved ruins, your guide will share fascinating insights into the significance of Machu Picchu within the Inca Empire. You’ll visit key landmarks within the citadel, including the Sun Gate, where hikers from the Inca Trail make their grand entrance, and the Room of the Three Windows.
After we’ve fully immersed ourselves in the magic of Machu Picchu, we’ll return to Aguas Calientes by bus, where you’ll have a moment to relax and reflect on the experience. From here, we’ll board a train back to Ollantaytambo, enjoying the scenic ride through the Andean landscape. Upon arriving in Ollantaytambo, our transport will be waiting to take us back to Cusco
