The Sacred Valley was the heart of the Inca Empire, surrounded by three major agricultural hubs: Chinchero, Pisac, and Ollantaytambo. This lush valley, shaped by the Urubamba River and bordered by snow-capped peaks, served as the empire’s primary source of sustenance.
After exploring the Sacred Valley, you’ll make your way to Machu Picchu, where you’ll enjoy a full day immersed in its splendor before returning to Cusco by train.

First, we will pick you up from your hotel in the city center of cusco. However, if you are ouside of the city center the pick up will be at 6:45 am from the main square. then, we’ll head to Chinchero, a charming village known for its rich cultural heritage. Explore the vibrant local handicraft shop where you can find unique artisan products, and visit the archaeological site that showcases the Inca ruins, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
Next, we’ll travel to Moray, an impressive archaeological site featuring circular terraces used by the Incas for crop acclimatization. Marvel at the ingenuity of Inca agricultural practices as you stroll through this fascinating site and learn about its significance.
Our journey continues to the salt mines of Maras, a breathtaking sight with thousands of salt ponds cascading down the hillside. These mines were a vital resource for the Incas and remain in use today. Take in the stunning views and discover the importance of salt in the region's history.
After our explorations, enjoy a delicious buffet lunch in the picturesque Urubamba Valley, where you can savor local flavors and recharge for the afternoon.
Finally, we’ll visit Ollantaytambo, a key defensive site during the Inca civil war. Here, you’ll explore the impressive Temple of the Sun and learn about the historical significance of this strategic fortress, with its well-preserved architecture and stunning views.
The group will wake up at 4:30 a.m. after breakfast at 5:00am, you will trek to Machu Picchu. Your guide will be at the entrance, ready to help you witness the breathtaking sunrise over the ancient ruins. The hike to the citadel takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. After soaking in this magical moment, you’ll enjoy a 2-hour guided tour where your guide will share the rich history of Machu Picchu, providing insights into this incredible site. Once the tour concludes, you’ll have free time to explore the citadel at your own pace, soaking in the atmosphere as long as you wish. Afterward, you’ll head back to Aguas Calientes, stopping at the Machu Picchu Museum along the way. After retrieving your backpack from the hotel, you’ll board the train to Ollantaytambo. The journey continues by bus back to Cusco. We anticipate arriving at Plaza de San Francisco between 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. but please note that arrival times may vary based on the train schedule.
