Our tour will start meeting the group at the Main Square of Cusco. then we will walk together through the classic streets of the historic center until we get to Qoricancha. Step into history at Qoricancha, once the most important temple of the Inca Empire. Dedicated to Inti, the Sun God, its walls were once covered in sheets of gold. You can still admire the incredible stonework that has stood the test of time. The combination of Inca and colonial architecture here tells the story of two worlds colliding.
After this, get ready to be amazed by Sacsayhuaman, a massive fortress overlooking Cusco. The huge stones, some weighing over 100 tons, were perfectly fitted together without mortar—an engineering marvel of the Inca civilization. Climb to the top for stunning panoramic views of the city and the surrounding Andes.
We will go our next spot: Qenqo, a ceremonial site thought to have been used for rituals and astronomy. Wander through carved passageways and discover an underground chamber where the Incas may have performed offerings.
Then we will explore Puca Pucara, a military outpost that once guarded the road leading to Cusco. Its name means “Red Fortress,”. With its terraces, rooms, and aqueducts, this site gives you a glimpse of how the Incas combined strategy with architecture.
Our tour ends your tour at Tambomachay. This peaceful spot features beautifully crafted stone canals and fountains that still flow with crystal-clear water. It’s believed to have been a place for worshiping water, an essential element in the Inca worldview. Take a moment here to soak in the tranquility and reflect on the ingenuity of this ancient civilization. Then, we will go back to the historic center where our tour will end.
