  • 1

We’ll pick you up from your hotel or Airbnb in Cusco between 4:00 and 4:30 a.m. and drive south to Checacupe, a charming Andean village home to a legendary Inca bridge. There, we’ll enjoy a traditional breakfast, stretch our legs, and use the restrooms before the journey continues. After breakfast, we’ll head deeper into the mountains for 1.5 hours until we reach the trailhead at Palcoyo. The views along the way are breathtaking, rainbow-colored hills, herds of alpacas, and the snow-capped Ausangate watching over the valley. The hike is short and easy, just 2.5 km round-trip, with plenty of time for rest and photos. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also climb to the nearby Stone Forest for panoramic views. After the descent, we return to Checacupe for a well-deserved lunch, then drive back to Cusco, arriving around 4:00–4:30 p.m.
