    Cusco – Cloud Forest – Hostel Bamboo.

    Paucartambo

    Pick up: Between 05:00 a.m. and 05:30 a.m. from your hotel. The adventure begins with an early departure from Cusco, ascending to the majestic Andes on meandering roads, traversing picturesque villages and rural landscapes until you reach Ajanaco, the gateway to the Amazon rainforest, located 3,500 meters above sea level. From this point, we begin the descent into the Cloud Forest, a lush and life-filled ecosystem, home to orchids, heliconias and tree ferns. During the tour, it is possible to observe emblematic species such as the rock rooster, the colorful umbrella bird, the exotic masked trogon and the majestic quetzal, as well as some mammal species such as monkeys. In the afternoon, we arrive at Bambu Lodge, where we will settle and spend the first night in the jungle. Meals included: Picnic lunch. Dinner.

    Hostel Bamboo – Watchtower – Machuwasi – Golden Noose Hostel

    After a delicious breakfast, we continue our bus journey to Atalaya. Along the way, we will make strategic stops for observation walks of hummingbirds and some mammals. Upon arrival in Atalaya, we will board a boat for a tour of approximately 45 minutes along the river, during which we can observe a varied wildlife. Afterwards, we will arrive at the Golden Noose Hostel, here we will spend the night. After lunch, in the afternoon we will visit the Machuwasi Cocha, where we will take a ride in a traditional catamaran of the area. During this excursion, we will have the opportunity to observe a great diversity of wildlife, including birds such as the Shansho or Hoatzin, as well as monkeys, reptiles, dwarf alligators, insects, and hopefully capybaras. At night, we will participate in our night walk, a unique experience for the observation of insects, spiders, snakes and other fascinating nocturnal jungle animals.

  • Day 3

    Hostel Noose of Gold – Collpa de Parrots – Cloud Forest – Cusco

    Very early in the morning, we headed by boat for about 45 minutes to the parrot collpa, a natural clay wall rich in salts and minerals. In this spectacular place, we can observe between 3 and 4 species of green parrots, which arrive in large flocks to feed on the essential minerals of clay. After this experience, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast. Then, we return by boat to Atalaya, where we will continue the bus journey back to Cusco. During the tour, we will pass through Pilcopata (550 m above sea level), Homeland and Chontachaca, crossing again the enigmatic Cloud Forest, with one last chance to appreciate its impressive biodiversity. Arrival in the city of Cusco is scheduled between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
