Itinerary

Duration: 12 hours (approximately)
  • 1

The day begins very early with pick-up from your accommodation in Cusco between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. During the drive to Cusipata, you’ll enjoy scenic views of the southern Andean valleys. Upon arrival, you’ll have an Andean buffet breakfast to prepare for the hike. We then continue to Phulawasipata (4,600 m.a.s.l.), the starting point of the ascent to the Rainbow Mountain. The 3.5 km hike offers spectacular views of alpacas, rolling mountains, and the Ausangate glacier. Once at the Vinicunca viewpoint (5,200 m.a.s.l.), you’ll have 30 to 40 minutes to rest, take photos, and learn about the mountain’s history and geology. After the visit, we descend back to Phulawasipata and return to Cusipata for a well-deserved Andean buffet lunch. Finally, we head back to Cusco. Passengers may end the tour at Plaza Regocijo, or—if they have evening flights—opt to finish directly at the Cusco airport.
