The 2-day Machu Picchu by Car tour invites hiking and nature enthusiasts to immerse themselves in stunning Andean landscapes and the splendor of Machu Picchu. Starting from Cusco, enjoy a scenic 6-7 hour road trip to Hidroeléctrica, followed by a 10 km hike along the train tracks, through lush vegetation and natural wonders. The second day features an in-depth exploration of the iconic citadel with a professional guide, revealing its rich history and breathtaking views. This tour balances adventure, culture, and nature, making it one of the most affordable and picturesque ways to experience this Inca treasure.

Early departure from Cusco (6:00 a.m.) toward the Sacred Valley, ascending to Abra Málaga with stunning views of snow-capped peaks and glaciers. Then, the route descends into the high jungle, where the landscape shifts to lush forests until reaching Santa Teresa for a short break. We continue to Hidroeléctrica for lunch before starting a 10 km (about 2.5 hours) walk along the railway tracks, passing through tunnels, jungle scenery, and the Urubamba River. Upon arrival in Machu Picchu Pueblo, you’ll settle into your accommodation and enjoy free time to explore the town or visit the hot springs. In the evening, the guide will give a briefing about the next day’s visit to Machu Picchu.
We start with an early breakfast before walking from Machu Picchu Pueblo to the Puente Ruinas checkpoint (about 30 minutes). From there, the ascent begins along steep stone steps for 1 to 1.5 hours until reaching the main entrance of Machu Picchu. After showing the required documents, we join the guide for a 2–3 hour tour through the site's main areas, including the Temple of the Sun, Sacred Plaza, Intihuatana, agricultural terraces, and the best viewpoints. We then descend back to the town, arriving around 11:30 a.m., and begin the 10 km return hike to Hidroeléctrica, enjoying jungle scenery along the way. Around 2:00 p.m., we board the tourist transport back to Cusco, passing Santa Teresa, Santa María, and Abra Málaga. Arrival in Cusco is approximately at 9:00 p.m., marking the end of the 2-day Machu Picchu by Car tour.
