Opt for a less strenuous alternative to Vinicunca with a day hike to Palyoco, a seven-color peak that offers exceptional photographic opportunities, from Cusco. Instead of having to hike for five hours, you'll take a short, one-hour hike before enjoying the views of Rainbow Mountain; plus, you'll hike at a more relaxed pace in a small group limited to 15 people.

Itinerary

Duration: 12 hours (approximately)

    We will pick you up from your accommodation, preferably in the historic center of Cusco. Pickup begins at approximately 4:00 AM. We will then head south of Cusco, to the town of Cusipata, where we will make our first stop for breakfast. Before arriving in the town of Palccoyo, we will stop to take some photos of the attractive colonial bridge and the Inca bridge. Upon reaching Palccoyo Mountain (4,900 m), we will have free time to take photos and enjoy the scenery. We will also be able to observe part of Nevado Ausangate. We will return to the parking lot to return to Cusipata, where we will have lunch and finally return to Cusco (arrival at approximately 6:00 PM). Our vehicle will drop you off one block from the Plaza de Armas (Plaza Regocijo).
