Welcome to Cusco, Peru. On arrival at Cusco’s Airport, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in the well-known central suburb of Cusco. Your adventure begins with a welcome meeting at 1 pm at the hotel where you’ll meet your tour leader. From here, you’ll jump on private City tour and head downtown for a guided walking tour of the city’s historical center. Take in the ornate spectacle of the colonial mansions, palaces and Inkas temples that line the streets, we will visit the Sun temple of the Inkas, the Cathedral church. Your walking tour wraps up in Cusco’s main square. Perhaps head out for dinner with the group – your leader will have plenty of local recommendations. If you are considerate to arrive before the tour please let us know to help you to arrange a early hotel stay.
Early morning today for your journey into the wilds of the Peruvian Amazon. Take an early morning transfer to Cusco airport, then board a flight to Puerto Maldonado. From here, you’ll board a motorized canoe and cruise deep into the jungle. The journey to your eco-lodge in the Madre de Dios region will take around 45 minutes. Arrive and settle in to your thatched-roof lodge before a short orientation walk of the area close-by. Spend the evening getting acquainted with the sights and smells of the jungle and fall asleep to the sounds of nature.
Get ready for an unforgettable day exploring the depths of the Amazon Jungle. Set out on a half-day walk guided by local experts on the area’s flora and fauna and rich to a Lake Sandoval. Learn from your guides about the medicinal and practice al uses for some of the plants that grow here, which Indigenous people have been studying and using for thousands of years. On your walk, keep an eye out for rainbow coloured macaws and butterflies, and listen for the barking call of the peccaries and chattering of monkeys that call the jungle home. This part of the Amazon is also known to house capybaras, giant otters and jabirus, so keep your eyes peeled for these creatures. Return to the lodge for lunch and some free time to relax. Before the sun goes down, venture out on a walk to climb up to the canopy of the Amazon and cross some bridges between trees.
After Breakfast. Leave behind the natural wonders of the Amazon for the man-made wonders of Cusco today. Return to Puerto Maldonado on 1 hour canoe ride to collect your luggage, then take a flight to Cusco city. When you arrive, get acquainted with Cusco during an orientation walking tour if you missed the first day lead by your tour leader and also visit the chocolate museum and take some taste of our peruvian chocolate. This evening, you may like to head out for optional dinner– your leader can recommend some great local places to grab a meal. If you’re feeling adventurous, why not try one of the many establishments serving up cuy, which you might know by the English name of guinea pig or the healthy Alpaca steak meat.
Start your day exploring some Inka sides of the Capital of the Inkas empire, take a private transport to visit 4 Inka sides out side of the city of Cusco ( Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pukapukara, Tambomachay ) guided by you tour leader/ half day tour, then take a free afternoon to explore on your own way the magnificent city of Cusco with great options for museums, churches, market, etc.. Also great options for restaurants and coffee places with balconies to enjoy the sunset.
Travel by private bus through the Sacred Valley. Known as farming area of the Incas, the valley has been a source of livelihood to the locals for hundreds of years. You’ll see maize crops covering the terraced valley walls and the sacred river beneath. Along the way, you’ll stop to visit some Inka side ( Moray ) where the Inkas used to adapt and acclimatization the crops then also see the artisanal salt mines. Half way we will stop for lunch and then end our drive at Ollantaytambo town where we will visit the last Inka side where used to be a fort to defends from the Spanish people during the colonial time, finally arrive to our hotel in the same name town of Ollantaytambo.
take our train to the begin of the trek, train will take around 1 hour, then we will start our adventure hiking the option of 1 day hike to Machupicchu ( 12 km distance). The 1-day Inca Trail hike is a great option for those wanting to experience trekking in Peru, without committing to the full four days. This trek starts from the train station known as ‘KM 104’ and after a steep ascent it follows the last portion of the Classic Inca Trail. Trekkers enter Machu Picchu by the Sun Gate in the afternoon, then take a short bus ride down to Aguas Calientes town to spend the night at the hotel and optional hot springs. Next day, trekkers will return to Machu Picchu for a guided tour. This trek is subject to permit availability and must be pre-booked (at a surcharge). Please contact your booking agent to confirm it. Note. For those who might not wanted to do the hike , we can help then to still coming on the tour but the train that we will take it, is direct into Aguas Calientes/Machupicchu
Rise before the sun and take the road back up to the incredible Machu Picchu. On your second visit, explore more of the extraordinary architecture of the temples, palaces and living quarters. Looking at Machu Picchu as it sits against a backdrop of forested mountains is a truly breathtaking experience. Its mortar-free design is particularly earthquake resistant, and the stones are so precisely cut that, to this days, not even a knife fits between them! Your visit at Machupicchu will be lead by your local tour guide then take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, then catch a train back to Ollantaytambo. From here, you’ll make the drive back to Cusco for the evening. Arriving around 7p.m to your hotel.
After a full on days of adventure take a free day in Cusco town, where there are so many optional things to do like just relax , explore more around or even get a massage and take some nice lunch on those balconies facing the main square of the capital of the Inkas empire. But if you still got some energy take a look to our optional adventure excursions like ( rainbow mountain , Humantay lake) please ask your tour leader to help you to arrange a safe excursions. Late in the evening we can arrange our last group dinner and why not explore around the nightlife of Cusco and take some steps of salsa lessons.
Your adventure comes to an end after breakfast this morning. If you would like to extend your stay in Cusco, just speak to your booking agent ahead of time to organize additional accommodation or excursions. ( Lake Titicaca – Salt Flats In Bolivia). Also everyone has a complimentary airport transfer from your hotel in Cusco.
